Peter's heli

Peter was out at our field with his Sunday with it. He quoted the price to be about $4500 for engine and frames. Plus a heli kit for the tail, head and front mechanics. Plus a lot of parts he made himself.

I talked to I believe Joseph at vario, and I have one on order, heli only though, I have turbine engines to drop in there. Try an AMT Olympus in there, 43lbs thrust!!!
They will also be coming out with a different model in the future which will fit fuselages better.

one thing for sure , it will level the playing field for all flyers .. like to see someone try to do 3d flips, funnels, and death spirals with this setup ..

wonder if this machine has a sticker from the surgeon general that says ,
"warning not for 3d flying, upright flying only " .. - got to get one ..

hehe!

Checkout V-east for Graupners new turbine system - the first practical production system, and at Graupner quality I hope. Pricing due out soon, but I am sure it will be more realistic. What a cool system this looks like!

The Graupner system and the system used by Vario are just about identical. Both made by JetCat. Now all that seems left to do is develop fuses for the beasts.

looking at the jet heli's fuel tanks , better conformal fuel tanks setup are needed instead of the square looking ones which seems to be attached anywhere it can be mounted if not occupying needed space..

I do prefer similiar to what the jets are using aligned with the contours of the fuselage. for scale no problem, for pods then - conformal in this case. as there is more equipment added to the front with less room for a fuel cell there..

the other thing is vario already has several notar fueslages , i like that!, why not not develop and configure what they have with the jet engine setup and incorporate wedged fuel cells along the cg.. that would be a cool configuration along with conformal fuel cells within or outside the frames, or body engine centered and 2 cells opposite each side fully protected.
