Guys

Can anyone give some guidance on the maximum headspeed that the all metal Ikarus upgrade head with metal grips and thrust bearings can handle. I am currently running around 1800 but would lke to go faster and see if it improves performance.

I would also like to stretch it - does anyone know the blade length of a ECO 16 ie 500mm/515mm ?

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Thanks Jermaine. I see all these other helis running 2100+ that swing similar size blades like the Logo 10, Swift etc and I have always kept mine to around 1800 whatever I fly - even my MA Fury.

As I have a fully upgraded machine running thrust bearings then I am going to run it up a little see what performance improvements there are. My Orbit 20-10 and 55-10-32 are cold after a 10 minute flight so they should be able to handle it OK.

Mick, I used to run my Eco8 at 1800 on 10 cell Nimh pack and it was smooth. Recently moved up to a 4S 3700 Lipo and head is at 2000+. Machine now really responds pulls big round loops effortlessly. Me thinks you will like it

Is that 2000rpm with the stock head ? or upgraded with thrust bearings?

The only thing on my Eco not upgraded is the flybar . I have the metal head with thrust bearings in the grips and I run thrust bearings in the tail blade grips.

edit. Just seen your other post where you say you are using aLogo flybar and V blae paddles. Looks like the last standard Ikarus part is going then........

Silvashadow.

The V paddles are good but with the log flybar it allows you to choose different screw in paddles !.

Had all sorts of problems with my tail grips parting so on my ECO I use 2 3x6x2.5 bearings in each grip and they are held in with a hardened M3 bolt. No more tail failures since !
