Compass Knight 50 > Mixing arm links rubbing on the see-saw

I am just about done building mine But I am having a problems at full +pitch with the ball links on the ends of the mixing arm are rubbing on the see-saw. Did you have this problem? Also, I dont think this matters but the stock links were junk (I actually broke one) so I replaced them all with Hirobo links. What is your pitch range? I am getting +/- 12 at only 55% on the pitch setting on the Swash AFR settings.

Take a look at the phasing ring to see if that is set right.

Hey I didn't ask for this fetish.!!!But I'am sure paying for it....

I had the same problem, and so did others.
We are just adding a slight bend to the rod
to make clearance. Look at the pictures in
my review post, you can clearly see the rod
is not straight. I can not tell that the slight
bend causes any issues while flying, mine flies
great! This same rod on the Freya is also bent.
My ball ball links were ok, certainly as good or
better than Thunger Tiger.

Links and Rubbing

Mine rub a bit but it does not appear to go to those extremes in the air. On the metal flybar carrier the spacing between the mixer and the carrier is a little bit greater so it does not rub. I was going to try to space the mixer out a little bit to see if I could stop the rubbing, but after 3+ gallons thru mine I have not seen any wear so its not really worth the effort.

My links were a little bit tight but I was able to size them with no problems and now that I have about 3 gallons thru my machine they have loosened up a bit and are very smooth.

For $260 dollars the machine flys so darn good. Since getting mine I have had NO desire to fly my 90 size machines. The tail is rock solid, the collective power is unreal, and the cyclic feels like a MA machine with HARD dampining and light blades. This little thing rocks. It is by far the best flying 50 that I have flown to date, and I have started calling it a mini Stratus

I hope you have as much fun with it as I am having!!!

If you inspect the flybar carrier closely, where it passes through the head block, I bet you'll find that the plastic is smooth despite the sharp edges of the hole in the head block. If the flybar carrier was actually tilting enough to hit the top and bottom edges of the head block hole, then there would be marks on the plastic carrier. My flybar carrier has never contacted this opening despite several hard 3D thrashings. Thus, if the flybar carrier never tilts to the limit in flight, then there is no need to worry about the mixing arm links rubbing on the see-saw.

Bending the linkage rods is not a good idea, as you're introducing a bend where future stresses could easily bend it further, possibly causing a crash. Pushrods should be straight to maximize strength.

If you still disagree, then let's see some pics of in-flight wear to those mixing arm links where they "contact" the see-saw.
