| Lama XRB ProbsHi people!,
Hope one of you knowledgeable lot can help me out with my hopefully temporarily disabled Lama!!
I don't know if it is just me having bad luck but this is my 2nd!!, I went and brought the 1st from my local model shop last week, rushed it home only to find that it had no forward/ backward cyclic at all!! I took it back to the model shop who confirmed the problem and said it wasn't repairable and they would just supply me with a replacement, which I've had to wait a week for as they were all out of stock!!
Now my new Lama arrives in stock I whisk it off home and for the first 5 mins it seems to fly fine but then (as I have heard from other posts) it wasn't long before the heli was back down again, it just seemed to self-destruct in flight!! But luckily I manage to land with no probs!!, the lower blades had had the tips ripped off some how (it looked as though they had hit the boom) so I replace the blades and tried another flight!!
Again 5 maybe 10 mins it does the same thing but this time it came down with an almighty crash and there were bits every where!!
This time I replace all 4 blades and the stabilizer bar (which flow off!!) I go to fly again and now there is a big problem with the rudder, it just wants to twist to the left, and there doesn't seem to be a happy place for the rudder trim as the rudder light will not go off, it goes straight from red to green and visa versa! There also seems to be a nasty grinding sound as you bring the rotor speed to a stop!!
I think that the stabilizer may be slightly bent (you can only notice it on a flat surface), the top blade needs tracking now and when the rotor is spinning the disk seems to sway from side to side!
I have read though the manual but don't really know which fault I should try and rectify 1st, should I try and track the blades or should I try and ascertain if the main mast is damaged before bothering to do that? and how will I know if the mast is not as it should be?
Could this problem have been avoided if the blades were properly tracked to start with?, I didn't bother to adjust as they seemed virtually ok and it seemed to fly fine and I have a bit of a phobia towards setting up heli's and have had previous heli's setup by professionals and I have just done the flying!!
If anyone has any advise at all it would be much appreciated!!, sorry to go on for so long!!
Thanks!!! |
