More CF, less plywood and plastic. Change is the essence of heli tinkering.

1. The CF chassis is from Germany

http://www.rc-city.de/shop42/DE/openstore.htm

2. The CF finsets are from Mark Pozzuoli pozzuoli@optonline.net
Mark also does some beautiful 3D fins for Hornets and Piccolos.

3. The CF tail boom is from Paul Barsamian
paul.barsamian@diamondcluster.com

4. The tail boom bearings are from Boca
http://www.bocabearings.com/index.htm

5. The Hitec MG servo is boom mounted (three tie wraps) and the T/R pushrod is CF tubing with standard LMH fittings JB Weld'ed in each end. More accurate than the stock piano wire pushrod, lighter and a lot better looking too.

Nice stuff Flyer. May I ask where you got the CF skid struts?

And, if it has a whirly thing on top and a whirly thing in the back it's an ACTUAL HELI. Just cause it's FP doesn't make it any less a Helicopter. Hey, when was the last time you saw a full scale heli fly inverted?

Let's see "actual helicopters"...............
Here's my current hangar inventory. Any of these Qualify?
1. Two brushless Coronas
2. Two brushless EP Concepts - both seesaw head SR models with all the Zeal tuning parts
3.Two brushless E-Voyagers - one pod and boom with CF side frames, MS CF blades, and PEK upgrade and one JR scale-bodied Ecureuil medivac air ambulance. Pic attached.
4. Three MS Hornets: one fbless, one CP and one FP - all with the compliment of Walt Ferar and JohnK tuning parts
5. One Piccolo CP with Astro 010 BL motor and other tuning parts
6. Two Wes-Technik FP Helistar 110g nano choppers
7. One Feda micro FP (Hong Kong Counterfiet Picollo)
8. One Skylark micro FP( same as the "new" Century Hummingbird)(another Hong Kong Counterfiet Picollo)
9. Two HoverFly II tethered indoor micro FP heli's
10. One Draganflyer III with 2.4 Ghz color on board TV camera
11. One Vectron BlackHawk tethered indoor saucer
12. RC Sky Patrol Air Hogs single channel heli
13. One Century Hawk SE V II on the bench under conversion/construction with a Hacker B50 20XL and 20 cell Sanyo HRSC 2600 NiMh flight packs.
And last but not least...on order, a Minicopter Joker for 32 cells.

Hope something here meets your definition of an "actual Heli"

Eric - the LG struts came as a part of the CF Chassis set from Germany. I believe they are available separately. Use the AltaVista translator and take a look at :

http://www.rc-city.de/shop42/DE/openstore.htm

Click on LMH and then tuning parts. They are very tough and have a provision for loading two row cell packs. Practical but also Kewl!

Thanks for the link Boyd. I think they are exactly what I've been looking to install on my Eco8. I didn't know that was you, gets confusing when you have a different nick for every BB. Hey, awhile back I as investigating paint for the Kyosho bodies for you, did you get the PM at the E-Zone. You never responded.
I found that polyurathane, applied very lightly works great.

I sure did. Thanks for the input on the paint. I did a EP Concept canopy for one of my Coronas and it came out great. I also found that a product called "adhesion enhancer" produced by the auto touch-up paint companies works to prevent peeling. It was designed for the plastic trim found on so many cars today and it works great on all thge polyproethylene plastic fuselages and canopies that so many heli vendors are using. I'm half way through a "Island Hopper" (T.C.'s heli on Magnum P.I.) paint scheme on a Hughes 500 Ep Concept fuselage and it's coming out great. Thanks for the help. Sorry I didn't get back to you.
Have a prosperous 2003 and keep hovering.......

Geez Boyd!

Im up there too:

- 2 EP Concepts - both with scale fuses: Jet Ranger and Hughes 500
- 2 JR Voyager Es - both with Hacker B40-8L motors. One is a "Super V" with EVERY upgrade out there on it. The other is box stock with a PEK that flies wonderfully! Doing more flight testing on the PEK...
- Logo 10
- Logo 20
- RappE 50V2 - test flights tomorrow or Thursday!

I converted a glow LMH to electric 3 years ago. Prior to that Ive owned 2 ECO 8s, 4 EP Concepts, an electric Hawk conversion (It wasnt brushless though, but it did fly OK). Had a few Piccolos but that was before there were scale fuses, hop ups, etc. One of these days Im going to buy another micro heli.

Next on the list is a Joker for me too

I wont list my 3 other glow helis - boring

Money definitely is no object with e-helis. We dump way more into them per capita than the slimers!

Hey Flyer,

I'm just finishing up an E-conversion on a Hawk III. I'm using a Mega 22/45/3E with a Schulze controller. I've been flying it on 16 cells with a 33t Phoenix pinion gear. Seems to have a lot of power although I don't have everything trimmed out yet - just ordered a new HH gyro to help! Keep us posted on how your conversion turns out.
