Compass Knight 50 > KNIGHT SPORT CLUTCH 1 WAY BEARING PROBLEM

I have 2 Knight Sports and both have developed the same fault where the starter shaft seizes into the clutch 1 way bearing and becomes permanently driven like the Sceadu one...#

I seem to be the only one in the UK with this problem and wondered if anybody else has heard of it and a cause or solution

thanks

One way bearing

I had that same problem. I purchased a new bearing pt# 62-0612, going on 4 gals now with no problems. The only difference that I can see is in the roller retaining sleeve. The one that was sticking was black and the new one was a redish brown. Other than that, the Knight 50 sport is the "Dog's Danglin's" Did I say that right?

If you can't dazzle them with brilliance,
baffle them with bulls**t.

Just been talking to the Uk supplier of the Knight and you are absolutely correct, there seems to be an isolated problem with certain 1 way bearings and he said it was identified by the colour

Replacements will be sent for me

Problem solved i reckon

Agreed it is a great heli

Thanks for the info, my one way is doing the same.
Not picking up any vibration from it so the flying is not affected.

Yep mine only lasted one flight before it locked up. Took it apart and the one way in the shoes is toast. Where are you guys getting the new bearing? I checked online at MTA, but don't see it in there catalog.

I was wondering how difficult it is to press the old bearing out, and a new one in. Does it take a lot of force? Is a press, or vise required?

I use a bench vise and two metric sockets, one that is large enough to allow the bearing to push out and the other small enough to fit well onto the bearing and inside the clutch.

Not tooooo tough
