I just ordered a Transmitter stand that mounts to the radio handle, to see how that helps with the balance.

Yea but mine is a stylish customized stove bolt of the utmost finish and quality.

You went to the local playground, pushed some poor blind kid off of the swingset and stole that hideous eyebolt off of it.

Not going to happen...

I'm not going to be putting anything that looks like an after thought on my new JR 10X. I've waited this long and I'm not going to start adding the latest junk box parts to my fancy new radio. Isn't this akin to putting $2000 worth of rims and tires on a 1980 Ford Pinto station wagon, today?

Later...

Scott!

It's more like putting a Pinto factory spare on a Porsche -- but if it gets you to the show on time then what the hell.

Those damn kids had to many swings anyway.

It's more like putting the Pinto's factory spares on a Rolls Royce -- but if it makes it corner better then what the hell.

Thats right and it did make it corner better.

so it feels right in the hands. It doesn't matter if it's in a tray, but if its on a strap then the ba;ance point must be right so it sits at the right angle without having to compensate with the palms and fingers.

Look Stan

See... You fell for my original "decoy" design. Leading you to produce that hideous abortion you applied to your radio.

Gaze now upon my latest creation:

It's curves flow with grace like the back of a beautiful young lady. It shines and sparkles like fine jewelry. Crafted out of the finest materials. A swiss watchmaker would be jealous.

Mine speaks... It says "I have you.... attach yourself to me!"

Yours says: "You gonna need a tetanus shot."

Mine is indeed... yes.. shall I say "bling!"

Your is... can we say.....scary?

If you show up at the field tomorrow I have a new neckstrap I am going to give you that matches your creation:

OK I give, I don't think I can top that. But your not telling the whole truth, only after you saw mine did you think of this one.

Variohelo has a Eolo he needs help with setting up the 10X.

How about gluing some lead inside the tx? Probably on the back cover towards the top of the tx?

I agree the JR radio needs to be balanced. Why thy didn't do it at the factory amazes me.

My question is to those of you with Mod installed. It seems like there would be a lot of rotational torque applied the factory hook with this mod. Have you noticed any play in the transmitter hook on the radio?

That hook is pretty stout. But you can unscrew that hook and make your own like I did in the photo above.

Here is the secret, that hook I made is a piece of an R90 flybar. The threads are the exact same as the ones on the factory hook. I have a finger nut from a balancer on it to adjust the stop. All is polished and looks nice.

All yow need to do now is go out and crash your R90 in such a way that is bends up the flybar in that nice shape.

Good Luck.

Here is how I balanced mine, an hour of work and using the original hook. I opened the transmitter, drilled a hole under the switch (I had to remove both gimball to get access 8 screws...) and reinstalled the original hook using a bolt with nylon lock. Anyway a picture is worth...

Just kidding....

Looks nice. A little nicer than a giant hideous rusty eyebolt.

Lockheed, that's what JR should have done when they built the case. Looks good, I think I'll copy you, instead of copying Mark C or so he says.

I wish I could test how it balances for a pincher before doing it to mine - I like the radio to hang level to the ground while resting against my stomach - Pretty much tray-like without the cumbersome tray.

My guess is it balances just right, it doesn't take much to get it where it needs to be.
