Well... I have at least proved this is not a fleeting fad... I have finished the 450 though have not had the pleasure of the maiden flight yet. I just received my AMA card today in the mail. I am the proud owner of a brand new T-Rex 500 kit that my cats (the kind that are furry and have four legs) bought me for my birthday, and last but not least, now have rights/privilege/rentalship to at least 5 hours per month of awesome automobiles (ok, zipcar - hey, there's two mini coopers, a BMW 328, and several rabbit/jettas all within 4 blocks of my apt.

What would be next if I would like to pursue flying at the awesome Seaview field?

SRW will be having the Spring One Day FunFly on May 10, 2008. All AMA memebers with Heli are allow to fly there and all non fliers are welcome to visit. Poster / Flyer will be posted soon.

Guest are welcome to fly there anytime when invited by a current memeber as long as they have their AMA memeber and no one at the field objects to you flying there. If your a beginner, your heli must be checked out by an existing memeber who is familiar with your heli.

Post here and ask who will be out next weekend. Jan?????

If you can believe the weatherman, Saturday is looking pretty bleak... And yes, being a noob, I would welcome the critical eyes of a veteran to check out my heli.

I work alot, so it is difficult to make it out during the week unless I take the day off, however, my weekends are pretty open and flexible.

Anyway, I guess post here or PM me if anyone is gonna be there this weekend and would be up to the task of noob supporter.

I just spoke to a few guys and we'll be down there. But the catch is, it's a little windy. 20 to 30 MPH windys but sunny. We will be happy to check over your Trex 450. Just bring your ESC manual if you have it handy. It's been awhile since I've program the ESC.

Morning around 10AM is my best guess.

You MUST bring down your AMA CARD!!

Ok... Zipcar lesson #1 learned. Sat AM is a popular time...

So seeing as how a) tomorrow is looking really windy, probably not conducive to beginner marathon hover sessions, b) I woke up this morning with a horrible kink in my neck and have to walk around like a robot, and c) NO zipcars are available until 4pm, I am gonna hope that someone is gonna go on Sunday. If anyone is thinking about Sunday, let me know (i guess I have to reserve these stupid cars well ahead of time...)
