It all started out innocently enough - we started having Havoc heli fights at work - which lead to research and purchasing of other indoor helis for dominating office flights - which lead to the purchase of a sim (G4) - which lead to the purchase of a Honey Bee FP - which lead to the purchase of a better sim (Phoenix RC) - which lead to the purchase of T-Rex 450 SE V2 - all in the course of about 2 months.

And well, that about sums up where I am at today. Its been quite slow at work and I can honestly say that I am spending more time reading about this new addiction than writing lines of code (my job)...

I just started the build of the T-Rex last weekend and have been following the finless videos and taking it real slow since this is my first kit build and there is lots to learn.

Anyway, I was directed towards this club from the HF forums and its nice to know that there is what looks like an excellent field in my back yard - so to speak.

I read the guidelines in a previous post for becoming a member - so hope to meet some of you soon. Hope you guys don't haze the newbs too bad

I don't have a car so I would most likely be getting an aluminum case for the 450 and taking the subway or bribing a friend for a ride...

Can't wait for the spring... later!

Welcome to the RC Heli World .

Be warn, as you already know, this hobby is very addicative.

For the Trex 450SE V2, take apart all screws and locktight it your self. 2 Out of 3 Trex 450SE I've built had almost no locktight, and the 3rd has some but not all.

His videos are very helpful.

We don't haze the newbies too bad, but not sure what happen to the last newbie that visited us.

We may be planning a Spring Fun Fly. So keep your eye on this thread or on our club web site.

Thanks... I have indeed been re-threadlocking all screws - though I might go back and re-do the rotor arm as I didn't have any grease at the time to put in the thrust bearings and I have read many suggestions that these really should be greased up good.

It was an amazingly exhilarating feeling just simply centering all the servos - I can't imaging what the first hover is gonna be like.

I am already researching my next kit... this is bad...
