The shogun is not dead. I still have my 1st gen which flies great. I never had any issues with it. People just like having all the new toys. I think the shogun definately brought popularity to the small electrics. It started a new era and trex took over from there by making it cheaper. Me... I like to buy the new toys and keep the old ones as well. Hehehe!

I still check back from time to time to see if anyone has poasted in this forum. I believe that the Shogun is still one of the best helis out there.

The Shogun is, unfortunatley, very dead (IMHO).

I flew one for quite a while, and liked it. Other than occasional less than enchanting issues with the crown gear on the V1, it was a pretty good machine.

It has been totally outclassed by the TREX, Mini-Titan, Diablo, etc. from a performance standpoint.

If one needs Shogun head parts, the Walkera #36 head, and some of the other parts, are interchangeable. The #36 is actually a better design (for nominally the same helicopter), especially in the tail drive department. The handling is virtually identical (assuming one has a decent radio in the #36).
