Compass Knight 50 > Preview of the first knight3D in Thailand

These are the first pictures of the new knight 3D assembled in Thailand. Hobby Extreme Co, Ltd received 4 of these models as demonstration equipment used to promote the Thai market. 10 orders have already been placed and shipment is on the way. A further shipment is due in February where i will take pride ownership of one for myself. Then goodbye raptor hello knight. I personally think the knight 3D is far better looking, a well thought out and developed, piece of kit. Lets hope the price can be as competitive as the raptor, then I think we will have a new leader in the market.

Its certainly lighter than the raptor titan - Take of weight is 3.55kg - Also has pitch range of +/- 15 degrees, and +/- 39 degrees for flybar range.

It's hard to tell in the pictures - are the fins G10 and the canopy fiberglass? I hope Compass enlarges its vendor base in the US. I have no problems at all dealing with MTA, but I think this latest version is really going to be a HOT seller. It would be nice to have parts support fom multiple sources.

cog: The canopy is unfortunately plastic but has 4 nice anodized aluminum retainers. Not to sure about the fins.

That is the 50 that the rc market has been waiting for.
Purpose made for 3D and 50 sized great practice bird( frequent flier)

It has been a long time coming and first to market always enjoys market share.

The cyclic control now has a push-pull design almost identical as the Fury. It is still under testing stage. As you can see in the photos, it still does not have its own landing skid and canopy.

The tail belt system now is quite similar to the Raptors (belt puller at main shaft).

Why would you opt for a Fury cyclic control layout over the machine's current Avant style in the pictures above?

Yeah.. its quite like AVANT, especially on engine mount, tank and push pull system.

Nowadays, Avant has been used by top 3D pilot e.g. Alan Szabo, Markus Kim. Hopefully with new design by COmpass, we can get 50 size "Avant Clone" with affordable price

Painted Canopy

Now with the new color scheme she is starting to come alone nicely. Daily testing of the knight 3D and now into the 4-5th day seems to be without problems. Some heavy 3D flying to come now the motor and running gear are run in nicely.

Test flight in Thailand

Let's look at the fleet of our Knight 3D in Thailand. Semi stunt 3D flying resulted satisfactory, we hope we can do much heavier stunt flying some days to come.
Flying weight for each is around 3.2 - 3.3 kg.
