Graupner Koala-Bell 230-Elektro Skaler > Fitting a Starlet in a scale fuselage

Im not real familiar with the Starlet. I was wondering if anyone fitted the starlet mechanics to a fuselage with an elevated tail rotor like the Huey or Blackhawk. Im sure the tail output shaft would need to be modified to use a flex drive cable or a shaft with a gearbox. I wasnt sure If I should post this here or the scale section so I flipped a coin.

I have the Graupner BO 105 and this fuselage has 40 degree tail gearbox, the mechanics use the standard tail drive couplings.
If you go for the BO 105 you will get all the parts you need less the 40 degree gearbox which is purchased seperately.
As for Starlet mechanics I don't have any experience with them although I would think that they will be very similar to Uni-Expert mechanics of which I have a lot of experience.

hirobo make a 30 sized huey?i'm not sure if they sell the body on its own without the mechs.as skypilot says there is a 40deg. box availible for the graupner mechs so you will be able to do it as they are compatible.
Graupner sell a small jet ranger dedicated for the stalet as well as the squiral.these would be the easiest scale conversion choice as they are designed for the starlet.the raptor 30 will fit in these bodies so i'm assuming that you really have got a wide choice of bodies to choose from.
the starlet is a great little heli for scale converions.the more i think about it i like the idea of one my self.i'm going to have a look about at whats availible and will post later.
Martin Briggs models are now Graupner main agents and will be able to give any kind of advise. 01531 635298

Century uk. availible from Martin Briggs-
1. agusta 109 painted or unpainted/ retracts or no retracts!
2. bell 222 painted or not retracts ect.
3. Jet Ranger painted or not!
4. long ranger painted or not!
5. Airwolf painted or not, retracts ect.
6. Huges 500e painted or not

there really is alot to choose from! i'm trying to find out if you can buy the huey body from hirobo with out the mechs?not much joy yet. perhaps you could start a topic asking what the part no' is for the body alone.

I will say one thing ,I wouldn't put these mechs into anything bigger than a 50 size.could you tell me what size blades you are running and what size engine you are using.

I havent ordered the kit yet. O.S 50 and 600mm blades for now when I do place my order. The Graupner Jet Ranger is nice and I may go that route to simplify things.Im pretty sure the Starlet can be upgraded to UNI-EXPERT mechanics with a larger engine and longer tailboom and blades.

if you upgrade to a 60 you will have a vast range to choose from including helis such as huey's and blackhawks, but then it can get very complicated.
