I use a medusa 5v/6v on 6v and all my servo's have lots of power. I have heard about alot of tail/gyro troubles with those BEC-30's, but usually on the larger birds.

IQ - sorry to hear about the crash. Hope the damage wasnt too bad. I re-read my last post and got confused myself - it sould have read "my (JAZZ)ESC's BEC powers the rx as its rated 4amps".

I didnot get an oppportunity to fix and try because of weather here. I will take a rx pack as well to the field, as you suggest.

I have experienced static build up in my Logo 14 and trex. On the Logo the tail would kick out every now and then and the swash plate on my trex suddenly started jerking around when I spooled up. Both where cured by applying conductive Graphit 33 on the belt.

Graphit 33 is a messy substance that you can apply to the outside of the belt by a Q-tip - do not spray directly on your belt

I saw a post somewhere where Ralf did not recomend lubing the Logo belts.

I'd also say dont lube a belt as my only belt failure came just after i used silicin lube on it, never again!

Graphit 33

Does anyone know where to purchase Graphit 33 or a comparable product in the US? Am getting some glitching problems (occasional tail jerk) apparently related to the tail drive belt. I've found that having the belt on the tight side eliminates the problem but I have to re-tighten after about 5-6 flights. I am hoping that applying some Graphit 33 will lengthen the period between belt tension adjustments.

Yeah, at first i did use a soft pencil to apply graphite on the L14 belt and it did the trick. Its easier to use the graphite 33 though

Two ways to skin a cat.

Earth the tail shaft to the motor.

Wire from front of tail boom goes to the ali motor mount or motor bolt if your using the plastic mount. lt`s a bit more work than the graphite but it works 100%.

Thats the proper way to do it for sure! Graphit will wear off after a while so you have to redo it every now and then - guess I am just too lazy to do it like Tosh did

Pencil Suggestion

Thanks lloyd and Lorents regarding the soft pencil suggestion. Will try that. Am also intrigued by the Downy fabric softener suggestion I saw elsewhere. May try that first as is sounds easy to apply with a cotton swab.

Well, i got myself a set of MS 515 blades with 4mm bolt holes. But, my blade grips are 3mm. What i've done is bought a copper tube 4mm OD and 3mm ID, cut it to 12mm and inserted it into the blade holes (with a drop of CA).

Is it acceptable to do what i've done?

thanks Tosh. I dont think i'll be able to get 2000 with my setup, i guess it'll be OK. I was more concerned about the method i employed to convert 4mm to 3mm on my blades.

Got ya.
Well most of the shorter blades with a 4mm hole used to come with an insert like you`ve made so l don`t see a problem.

I hovered the carbon blades yesterday, admiring the good headspeed and the sound and suddenly disaster The heli went into left cyclic and i had no control. needless to say i lost my BN set of MS blades, 1 tooth on main gear and tail blades. Well, amazingly - that's what i lost.

OK, i was always doubtful about the way i set up my head. the instruction manual pushrod lengths didnot work and i did my own thing to get the setup 'right'. i think this caused a binding at some point.

I am trying different lengths now. Could someone help me with their pushrod lengths please. The servo pushrods are at 20mm from centre.

thanks.

Sorry to hear about that!!!

If you suddenly lost control of it and the head is still in one piece without any links comming off I doubt that it was binding. Sounds more like a fail safe situation?

Its hard to tell from the pictures, but you installed the ferrit ring on the lead from the Jazz to the rx right?
