Hello,

For some unknown reason I have mounted an UBEC on mine, but that is probably just a waste. Dont know if you saw that great video with Timo flying the Vbar-Logo 10? He is using the BEC on the Jazz 80 so I guess you will be ok

hey thanks, Lorents. I havent seen the video yet, but will do. I guess if the jazz bec can hold for 3d (i am assuming Timo's flying is hard 3d), it will sure hold for my lazy 8s and occassional loops 'n' flips. I think i wont bother with a separate BEC.

OK, i have a funny problem. I think my tail boom looks raised.. Or has it got to do with the design of the heli? Please help

Dont worry

If you draw a line through your main gear you will se that it lines up with the boom. All Logo frames have built in a slight angle that gives an aggressive cool lock on the ground

This is why I like to build gyro trays inside the frame that makes the gyro 90 degrees to the main shaft. I guess MrMel and I are the only ones that does that, so dont worry about that either

Aha. thanks for that, Lorents. I was a bit concerned and didn't want the main blades to slice throught the boom.
The gyro mount looks cool. At the moment i have installed the gyro on the tray behind the battery. Am i right in thinking that the surface is parallel to ground/perpendicular to main shaft?

The battery compartment parallell to the ground, but not 90 degrees to the main shaft. I dont think you will notice the slightly tilt on the gyro when you fly though...

well, i'll give it a try.
I have loads more of questions. The paddles i got are the 16gm ones (the ones with mesh), i guess they are for 3D. How good are they for sport flying? Should i consider adding weights to flybar or try a pair of heavier paddles?

Yes, the 16 grams ones are for 3D flying. If you get the heavier 26 gram paddles it should tone down the cyclic a bit. It is possible to fly smoothly with the lighter ones too, but it might feel a bit twitchy?

How are the Thunder Tiger green paddles?

I have a dumb question regarding the paddles. There seems to be a "set screw" that I'm not familiar with since the Trex450 SE doesn't have them. What exactly do they do?

I used the green paddles on a Swift and it made the heli more docile. The grub screw tightens down on the flybar, just an extra bit of safety i suppose.

Hi Praha,
I bought it second-hand from a gentleman i know. The heli was part built and the equipment i bought from him (motor, ESC, Lipos) were brand new. From what i remember, he had bought all the gear from skyline models.

Swash,

What motor are you using? (Looks like a FUN 600) Are those 4S4P's? I just switched from a C50 13L and 4S4P's to a Neu 1910/1Y and TP Prolite 6S2P 4200 (2X 3S2P 4200). I have the C50 13L setup but never tried it.

Here's what mine looks like so far with in red and white Logo 10 canopies. I'm not a big fan of the 3D canopy but who knows, it might grow on me.

Hi Swashplate
Good buy
I was looking for ages to get a good secondhand Logo but they are rare, ended up buying new. Then two days later one came up s/hand on BMFA
If you have not used him already Dave at revolution models is a great guy to deal with. Very helpful and fast delivery.

Good luck

hi Pyrock,
thats a plattenberg Orbit 20-10 motor. From what i was told (from the person i bought from) and going by few posts here, it is good for sport flying. lloyd thinks its a good all-rounder. For my kind of flying, it will be a while before i out-grow this setup. My setup looks as follows:
1. Plattenberg Orbit 20-10 motor
2. Kontronik Jazz 80-6-18 ESC
3. Thunder Power 4s-4p 8000 mAh Pro-lites.
4. JR 3121 coreless servos
5. Futaba 138DP PCM rx.
6. CSM 560 micro gyro
7. Futaba s9254 t/r servo

It has been very windy (& wet) for a while here. Sunday is predicted to be good. I hope i get a few missing bits and build it before then.

Hi praha,
i have shopped at revolution models before. They are indeed very good. The one that came up on BMFA, i guess is the one with me

I actually saw a very decent Logo14 advertised a couple of days back. If only i had a bit more cash

I've never seen a 3D canopy (except in pictures), but to me the normal one looks kind of cute. Anyways, intend to use this as a camera platform in future (ie. when i find some cash), then i might give it a 3d canopy. Carbon Copy UK had one on auction a while back (GRP with carbon screen), it looked good.

Orbit 20-10 on 6s setup with 19T pinion gives about 2300 headspeed and very good 3D performance, its a great motor. I have the 20-12 on 6s on 19T giving about 1900 headspeed.

Sorry for the long note, I didn't have time to write a short one.

What is the Kv rating for the Plattenberg Orbit 20-10?

Here's what I've got:

Neu 1910/1Y w/ 18T pinion (2100-2200 rpm)
TP Prolite 6S2P 4200(2x 3S2P 4200)
Castle Creations Pheonix 80 ESC
Futaba 401 w/ 9253 Servo
3X Futaba 9650

i think it is 20-10 is 1130 rpm/V.

good to hear the motor is good. I'm not sure what pinion i'm using(the motor already had a pinion on it), and the gentleman i bought the gear & heli from knows much more than i do. so i didn't bother counting the teeth on the pinion
