Comparable specs to the HDS-877 at $10-$15 more of course - But I'll probably give it a try someday - I just ordered some new tail bits to try out - Once I see how they perform with my current setup I'll probably fetch a 3154 and see how it compares - I wasn't very impressed with the 401/877 combo.

I have one coming for my Hornet will post back after I get a chance to compare it to my KO PDS-3014.

I was probably going to eventually try it on my H2 with 401 - But instead it looks like I might be testing it with a different gyro that'll work the way I want with my new tail rotor/slider mod

Sorry a little off topic.
What's the next best thing to a gy401 gyro
and weighs about 12g instead of 27g?

Maybe a 401 without the case?? Cant remember what the case weighs off hand. Or else either a CSM SL420 or SL560. Im glad you made me look as I would like to do an ultra light CP for gym flying

CSM 560 (PC interface, rev4 firmware) looks very interesting, thanks.

Currently using an MS-044 which isn't bad for the price at 13g. The only issue I have is that it is hard to get smooth fast piro's rates in both directions. But is 1/2 the weight and less than 1/2 the price of a gy401.

Edit:
Mmm, just had a quick ring round and been informed the CSM SL560 is falling out of stock as most pay the extra for the 100% better CSM 720 but it weighs 18g Grrr. I'll probably settle for the 11g CSM 420E (rev4), the E stands for customised for small Electric heli's, 420E is a 560 without PC interface, limited Tx step programable.

Ok the gyro I'm considering is the Logictech LGT-2100T - I hear it holds better than the GY401 and more setup features (left/right stops etc) and only $104
Oh and it's tiny - 2100T is 22x22x11mm/10g - GY401 is 27x27x20mm/27g -

Hey I like the 10g weight and 'Menu' order button

No idea, could be a worthy shot in the dark...

I need left/right stops to setup my tail to +45°,+8°,-37° - When setup with 8° offset pitch the GY401 can only produce +45°,+8°,-29° or less -

45° - 8° = 37° , +8° + -37° = -29° , 8° shy of -37°

I was considering the CSM560 before remembering about the 2100T for half the price of CSM560 with better hold than GY401 & smaller/lighter than both.

A little too new yet I suppose - But those who have tried it really like it - The Logictech gyros seem to have some popularity already in Europe and just now hitting the States -

I see I3DM is using a 2100T in a Trex and liking it - Lots of poeple are raving about the 6100T compared to the GY611 - And I hear rumor of Logictech coming out with a fast digital micro servo to match the 2100T like their 6100T/6100G combo - Sneaky ambitious Koreans.

I saw a couple posts from I3DM, but it was mostly about the 6100t. I wish I had more money, I would just buy one. I have a hard time commiting anymore with out several sources of good feed back. At the price and weight though I'm having a hard time stopping my itchy trigger finger. I better go do some yard work before I do something spontanious. LOL

i just ordered a 2100t, can't wait. i have been using a multiplex micro speed digital servo on the tail and it blows all the other digitals away that i have used. here are the specs:

metal gear, 2 ball bearings, size= 1.36l x 1.3h x .59w, weight=1.06oz, torque 43.9@6v, stall torque 77.9@6v, 60deg speed .08

I believe that servo has been discontinued. Quite heavy for a Hornet though isn't it?

My 3154 showed up today, more gear slop than I had hoped but better than the HS-50 it will be replacing.

Back to the mods I want to fly this new servo today!!

I have been able to resist the temptation of the 2100T so far(I need a 5s 2500 FP EVO pack soon)and not enough cash for both so it will have to be one or the other

yes too big and heavy for a hornet. i have used it on everything from a trex to a raptor 50, you just can't stop it!

How is the S3154 servo working on the tail?

I only had one short flight with it on sunday and still with my gy-240, I need to add some length to the shortened leads on my 401 to really reap the rewards of this servo. I am pleased with it so far but all I really did was a couple piros under the street light.
