The TT version is noticeably noisier then the belt version, which is to be expected. If you bring it to fun-fly today I can look over it for you if you want

Yup, an absolutely crap day weatherwise but as always, everyone was good natured and there for fun! I flew 4 flights total (2 were setting up the 500), LOL and that was whilst dodging the rain. BUT, thanks go to Grant, Neil and the Tuakau Club for putting on the event and for having us all along. It was my first effort with the camera and I'll try and have some vids up tonight if I can.

Thanks again guys!

Yup cheers guys for putting on a great event and Neil for the yummy hotdogs. Had a nice time catching up with everyone and seeing some new faces. Weather was pretty good between showers, and the Tuakau field is a really nice field to fly at

LOL it was not looking good when we were all parked at the gate with the hail pelting down waiting to find out the key that Neil had fits both Aka Aka and Tuakau gates.
Plenty of flying getting done between the showers so it was a worth while trip.

Your heli pad looks good Glen, you might have moved into pole position amoung the richest people I know.

aah - reminds me of the old joke about why the 747 has a bump in the top at the front where the pilots are.
So they can still keep their wallets in their back pockets

Tuakau Fun-fly.

Hi Guys.

I had a great day yesterday out at Tuakau, despite the weather. There was a pretty good turnout considering, and I had a great time throwing my Logos around and I know my little brother enjoyed his first fun-fly and first hover on the same day.

Thanks to the South Auckland club for the hospitality. See you at the next one.

Yes I don't own a 60K theatre setup there Kevin!!! Wonder who does? Oh and guess what....the bank owns most of my house. I have a 1989 honda accord and a 2002 mazda 626 wagon with 220k on it....I can't understand it....fetu down the road runs a huge V8 commodore yet a descent car is a while away for us....maybe they are borrowed past the max. Perhaps it's the years of slaving away at 15K a year polishing 152's trying to get to the big un's. I don't feel guilty about it.

Hmmm.....I could ask but I'm not sure you guys have the credentials to get into Levin.

Nope....it's for some of our big headed crews and we don't have enough room for ego's at times. I don't have a problem with my hip

Smart man. How do you know if a pilot is at a party???....he will tell you of course.

Hey my home theatre is not worth $60K more like $65K LOL
It sure as hell wasnt paid for with model helicopters, it was 20 years of being a poor plumber with the last 7 having 18 slaves doing the dirty work for me. I wouldnt like to be living off selling helicopters if I still had a mortgage, I would only have enough money to fly Esky or Walkera.

I did that for your benefit Glenn (Gleen). Just so you know, I'm also working on saying H-O-V-E-R-I-N-G instead of Huvvering.

Just imagine how I will sound after spending 3 weeks in the states.

Ok, just a few updates.

Video - ok, first time using the new video camera yesterday and I am learning more from the manual on how to optimise for action shooting. Also, the format I was using made HUGE video files (circa 400MB for a single flight). So, I am still in learning mode with the new camera. That is why I have not uploaded the few videos I shot in between showers yesterday - they need significant editing before upload.

In addition, I am buying a new video editing suite and grunty laptop to run it so I can create/edit event videos. There is action on this front as I want to be able to have some nice videos from all the events I attend throughout the country/year.

Also, as some of you may already know, the meeting re Kumeu did not go as we had all hoped and we still have a problem child on our hands. We are looking at our options now and it MAY entail the creation of a new (Heli only) alternate club elsewhere on the shore, though we are trying to avoid that resolution if at all possible. If any of you have been involved in setting up a new club I'd be keen to hear from you via PM with your tips and ideas thanks.

Yep, it was a good day even though I did turn up 3hrs later than expected and the fact that my X-50 took a dirt nap. I still had fun. Looks like I still got a lot of work to do 3d wise tho.

I think the tricky part would be finding a suitable field jason, I could organise for the shelter to be.... Lets say "taken" care of LOL..One day its there next day its hmmmmm... Nah just kidding.

Shame there isnt anywhere more central in Auckland suitable otherwise i and others im sure would be more inclined to travel to it...

There will be too many kill joys that will jump out of the gutter to shut you down if you try to fly in central Auckland.

There has to be plenty of potential members in Auckland, there should be more than enough for 6 or 10 clubs.

It will be interesting to see if Mugabe is on his best behaviour now.

Hey Neil do you want me to pick you up next time I go to Kumeu for a fly? can pick Mike up on the way as well, he needs to get out for a fly.
