WTF…… It wasn't an add!!!!

The whole thing was meant to be a joke meaning that it was too much for me to handle.

Seems my humour may be a little different from the rest of the world aye?

BIG Black Sheep Down!!!

Hey Guy's,

Well we got out for a fly this afternoon, mint weather after it cleared. The boys had a few flights with their X50’s then it was “business time” for the X90.

The first couple of flights were mint!!!! Linton had a flight and said the machine was wicked and very stable in aggressive 3D. On the third flight my workmanship came into question again.... I had set the tail gear with a little too much backlash, which ended up stripping under heavy loading. This was entirely my own fault and lessen learned.

Luckily throttle hold prevailed and the big bird didn’t come down too hard. The damage was a set of main blades, 1 cracked skid and of course the stripped tail gear. Man I could have kicked myself………… Dumb ass I know?

Luckily we have the parts and it will fly again.

I will post some great photo's later on.

Chur

I wish to thak you for waiting until we got to the field before the mishap, I hate to miss a crash, lucky the damage was minor, half an hour and it should be ready to go again.

You should have your motor back for the weekend Wayne, the OS was shipped on Friday. I have not leaned it much at all it is still running barley warm so it has a lot more power to squeeze out of it yet but for what I have been doing it has plenty.

Tuakau Fun Fly

Hummm..... We do aim to please Kevin!!!

I spoke with John today regarding the proposed Fun Fly at Aka Aka and he has given us the “all clear” to fly at the Tuakau Field on the 20th of this month. The only problem being we won’t have access to the Rugby clubrooms as they have changed the lock. There will be 2 flight lines available with a dedicated area set aside for people who are still learning or wanting help without feeling they are in the way.

They had a meeting with the Council regarding the mess at Aka Aka and apparently the soil was meant to be dumped out the outer area of the field to try and level it out for us. Whoops!!!! Obviously it’s too late to do anything now as the weather has made it a bog as shown in the previous photos. They have assured the club that it will be fixed up come spring and some fine weather.

Neil has kindly put his hand up to run the BBQ, so it’s game on for the 20th of July boys. Look forward to seeing you all there for some fun and of course everyone is welcome…..

Kind regards

Grant

LOL..... That’s what many nights of 3am builds will do to a man!!!

I only put them on for a quick photo shot between the rainstorms then changed to the standard CF RJX 700mm blades for the first couple of flights. Luckily it was not the Radix 710 on it or I would have cried on Sunday when it went in.

Good spotting Wayne

Theres a lot of new heli's out there in the 90 market it's pretty confusing. I think I am going to settle on the trex 90 however. Just due to crash cost so I can fly it to the max of my lame ability. The new turbulence 3D is out and the price tag is high. They have a freya 3D coming out too....reasonable price but still hundreds above the trex and the parts are 20 to 30% higher. Aurora...who wants one...not me.

Hey Kevin are the bearings any good in the trex 700? I see they are pretty darn big ones.

All my Trex stuff plus other gear is listed on trademe if anyones after trex 600N stuff. I don't have one anymore and going with 90 only (after the gas goes through the roof...yeah real intelligent glenn) except for my scale effort which will have the sceadu in it. I could have a blue century painted sherrifs dept hughes 500 E for sale. It had a couple of cracks in the front fuse which I repaired with F/G bandages on the inside but I'm no painter so was going to put a couple of decals or something over them. Couple of scuff marks over the boom which may polish out other wise it looks mint. I have half set it up for the sceadu but now found something I wanted more....an MD defender....cool....missiles which I am thinking of making live so I can shoot down kyosho calibers.........

Anyone done a multibladed head on a 500? I was going too but it just seemed more hassle than it's worth....I know you can fly them without all the electronics but they have some weird flying characteristics. It was going to cost nearly a grand to put a descent MB head on it with electronics to make it fly well so I abandonded the idea. Shame.

He he Jonny you reckon I'd need a purchase order for a lot more missiles?

By the way I am holding a workshop on cleanliness of your work area while building. You will notice in my photos that I have this down to a fine art. Anyone that would like to attend can PM me.

The X90 is another option also, fully blinged out of the box and ready to rock and roll, the thing has some balls! Plus it wont break the bank, and neither will the parts...

T-Rex700 or X90.
God why can't things be simple like the old days (before my time that is) when it was a heliboy or nothing.
