yep...trademe has turned to $hit.

I note it's only happening in the "heli's"section so some a$$hole tied up with heli's is doing this to us as trademe wouldn't have a clue as to what a heli was. Look under the aeroplane section.....lots and lots of extranious (forgive me if thats spelt wrong I just can't be stuffed looking it up) $hit that has everything to do with planes but is not a plane and yet no problems with trademe on that stuff.

Why would some cock want to continuously report this stuff to trademe????
Something is going on and it smells like $hit.

we need an alternative to selling through Trademe especially for our good second hand equipment so people dont have to wade through dozens of crap plastic helicopter wannabes.

Some idiot relays to me that my stuff is expensive compared to the 4 channel plastic fantastic displayed on TM again I am going to tell them straight.....FCUK off and don't come into our hobby unless you do your homework.

Note....I know who guys are and didn't complain about bonafide heli enthusiasts selling good used equipment....at least people I know.

But we need to tell trademe their policy sucks by walking.

Wow....I feel better. Anyone else want to vent?

I can put your stuff on my website and charge you the same fee as Trade Me if you like.
I don't get as many hits as Trade Me but I do get a few thousand a day and they are all people looking for RC planes and Helis so it is a good target market.
It will cost you nothing to try. I would probably restrict it to second hand goods or genuine new that is surplus rather than listing stuff in direct competition to our own products.
Just email me the pics and discription.
I will talk with my web site guy and see if an auction style thing is easy to add to the site. The whole site is getting a big overhaul soon so it could be a good time to add that as well.

It's so hard to restrain the NZMAA bashing though. I agree with Jaylord and JP though.

LOL that is some funny SH1T, I hate Trade Me all you end up with is someones usless old junk, looks good in the picture and when you get it all you can think of if the picture of a Big Mac and what you got served up in your little red box.

On the other hand it is good for finding idiots with stolen helicopters.

Keep us informed Wayneit will be interesting so see if they make a heli accessories section as well as a plank one.

I may have someone interested in your 10X, I will give him a call and let you know.

sent to trademe after reporting some junky esky part in the heli section of trademe.....suggest you all do the same if you are sick of it and tell them to get their act together if you want it to change.

detail.
"part and not helicopter.....you guys need to understand that people that have heli's look for parts for their heli's in the HELI section and dont want to wade through hundreds of parts in the GENERAL parts and accessories section. We want a parts and accessories section for HELI's. You are affecting my ability to sell my second hand parts as I dont have many people looking at my HELI parts when in the general parts and accessories listings.
We are considering our own website dedicated to listing and selling heli's so unless you consider changing your listing categories to include a parts and accessories for HELI'S section we will look at this possibility and more than likely we will get most people wanting to list their heli equipment on our side. Be saying this for ages....is there anyone actually there?"

I used to like trademe......once upon a time till the guy that started it sold it to some @%&**&####@#

TRADE ME

Hey Guy's,

We (RC Hobbies) offers all our customers the facility to list their 2nd hand stuff on our site for "FREE".....

We don't charge any fee's to list it and we don't charge you a commission for the sale if the money spent back into RC Hobbies. If you just want the cash we change a flat 10% of the sale, which is about the same as Trade Me.

We have done this for heaps of our customers and it seems to work really well for them…..

We have just created a dedicated “2nd Hand stuff” on our site, so if you want something list there send us a blurb like you would Trade Me and some photo’s and it will appear like magic on the website.

We have investigated an “Auction” type website and give the volume of traffic that Trade Me has it would be hard pushed to beat them. I guess that’s why the can charge the exorbitant fee’s right.

I think if enough of us banter away at them they will have to change sooner rather than later.

We all do have another option with www.sellmefree.co.nz but they too can compete with Trade Me.

Best regards and happy flying!

trade me is more like a 6% fee Grant. On a 2k thats about $120 with trademe and $200 on your site. I like the idea that if the money is sunk back into hobbies in your shop there is no commission...Nice idea.
I imagine traffic through your site would gain a "better" buyer. By that I mean someone who actually knows what they are buying rather than some of the bargain hunters trademe seems to find.

Hey Nut,

To tell you the truth, we've never charged anyone a "commission" as such on a sale as they have alway brought something else from our store. It's just a service we offer everyone which seems to work really well given the level of trafic we have through the site and our data base of potential customers.... People are always asking us to keep an eye out for a second hand blah blah for them and it may help put 2 & 2 toghter.

If anyone has any second hand or new stuff they no longer need or want we are happy to list it for you. Just drop us an email at rchobbies@xtra.co.nz with all the details and some snaps.

Cheers

Hi Guys,

Trade me sure have the market cornered and its the ozzies that get your fees and commision, I think I can hear them laughing on a still night.

I have an Auction site running, its in the trial stages of live testing and its totally free. Its running as a sub-site of our club site and its URL is http://www.activegear.co.nz/auction
and just in case you want to browse our club site its the same without the /auction on the end.

It has some cool features, once registered you can setup an AUCTION WATCH and the site will email you if someone lists an item with the text you entered in your search string. Much better than having to search through the crap on TM all the time.

Just keep in mind its a free site and no responsibility accepted for bad deals with buyers/sellers, the website gives you a place to get in touch with customers or sellers and get the price you want, nothing else.

Its very new, has no financial ties to anyone, any biz or any club other than being run on my own server along side our club site that I keep running for free. Being new, trafic is low but if you all want it, its there and free, with no restriction on cancelling auctions either so why not list your stuff and remove it if it sells elsewhere.

Oh,. and guess what, An RC section thats not under the toys section!!!

Helinutz already been on looking around and we all know how fussy he is LOL, jump on and take a look, make suggestions or two and give it a go. Free.

Cheers

Oh my god...am I going to make a mistake?

I have sold all my radio gear. Only flying the sim. I am getting a new radio which was going to be the new JR12X. I didn't want to be limited on the programming options of the 9303 for future projects requiring more channels and mixing like scale etc. (poss jets at some stage) as i won't buy another radio for some time.

well the 12X is out but it's $1500USD and I like the look of it but I have been looking at futaba as well... (ya my JR mates are shaking their heads) After quite a comparison the 12Z looks like a better option. Cheaper...equal in constuction but more programming options with absolute total switch assignability...a 2200 li ion battery and charger....and a 14 channel RX which actually gives you full 14 channels. 12 propo and two on offs. Oh also you can download updates from the net....pretty cool.

I am not after a 14mz so I wont get one and it's OTT for me. (although the 12Z probably is too but If i can afford it and want it then why not) The 12Z is a look that I can like. The 12FG looks a little plastic although it has most of the features of the 12Z. Apparently the gimbals and some hardware is of a better quality in the 12Z model.

So I may be turning my back on the trusty old JR. I have never been brand specific as I use futaba servo's and gyros etc and have owned quite a few futabas in the past...but I still feel a bit like a turn coat.

Anyone chime in with the pro's and cons of the 12Z? Specifically....how easy is it to program....the 9303 was the easiest by far. How solid is the footaba 2.4 link versus the speftrum. (you can run 2.4 or 72mhz on the footaba as you can on the JR 12X although you have to buy the right model 12X for that)

I want to get a new radio soon. Also I know the 9303 (dsx9) is very capable and I also know no radio will make me a better heli pilot so this is not what I am looking at a new swanky radio for.

What I want is one radio to "do it all" for quite a few years and allow me to attack any sort of programming I may want to do on planks, heli, scale etc etc. Also updating firmware by the web is a cool feature...I have that on my pocketlader charger. Dont have to post it back to get bugs fixed or loaded with different software for a different battery chemistry.

Oh one more thing....will you JR guys still talk to me???

over and out.
