Name the time and place, my friend!

If you think the weather down here is so bad- we can do this up in your neck of the woods-

IF you think that'll help you hover any better!

Me thinks not!

Last time I looked- boomin and zoomin and stick bangin wasn't part of the Wings test- so you better be ready to hover my friend!

Hell, there is a newbie down here, and I passed him on his Trex, cause he did the required stuff. One other Wgtn lad, who shall be nameless(but PM me and I'll tell ya) who is kinda in your league- but he didn't pass the test. It's the basics my son- No good flying like an eagle- folks need to show that they can do it like a chicken to pass!!

Just call me Chicken Not-so-little

Hope we can catch up soon- travel well- G2

Gidday Si.

I've been on the 767 for just over a year now. 4 years of Londons was enough for me on the 74. The guys are looking at 13 day trips through Hong Kong to the UK starting very soon. I really like Hong Kong but 13 day trips and the UK I can easily pass on.

The Nats. Sure am. I have leave over the period so will be there for the rally day, F3C and the day of 3D. If theres a sportsman F3C comp I'll enter into that for numbers but to tell you the truth I haven't practiced much hovering or f3C type flying so I'll do it just to have some fun. Be good to catch up in Dec......see you there!

The Heli's are flying at the main compound this year- so there will be just a limited list of freq's that are to be used!!!

The Tally Up

Well the Nats are al over and done, Glenn got his wingz prior but that did not help keeping the 50 off the ground on the rally day! Maybe you should have let him do the inverted version of the wings test G2!

Great flying displays from Robin, Peter and Glenn. Si - you were certainly banging out the moves as usual.

Photos are up on http://www.activegear.co.nz in the Zoom Gallery, lots more to put up so check back.

Hope your unexpected upgrade is going well Peter, its always a shame to see an awesome ship become awesome parts. Good thing was it looked worse than it actually was prior to the strip down.

Glenn, you should have kept my Landing gear, I didn't use it yesterday when i should have and hope to see you soon!!!

I guess we can excuse the wellie boys from not turning up - the event being oh so far away - NOT!.

Hi there I don’t know if you know this, but I am a heli guy from Denmark, and I have made a small map site, that I think you guys will find helpful.

It a site where you can register RC pilots, RC clubs or RC shops, and if you start to register on the site, and I see a lot of pushpins in your area, than I can make a site for you country.

http://wmap.rcheli.dk

Please read the instructions on the site, and you can write what you fly and where you fly it.

Happy new year

Yo Auto-

Thanks for the heads-up on the nats pix. Shame the only heli one posted is of some guy from Levin.....

Nat's, huh? How many Wgtn guys do you see at the normal comps???? Goes in a cycle, right now the guys that do the main boomin and zoomin aren't disiplined enough for a comp- or actually in the air- due to a string of smacks.
I gave competitions away a few years ago- too much stress for little gain. Besides- it's too much like watching paint dry.

Timp- thanks for the info- I'll go have a look. This may be the site a mate in Sweden told me about a few weeks ago. I checked it out then- but since I'm not that clever- I couldn't even manage to get registered- much less add my name to the pilots list :0

Thanks- g2

It can't be this site, on my site it’s ease, you just zoom in to your location, and then you click the spot where you want you push-pin, then scroll down to the textboxes and write you name, a description, click if it’s a club or a shop, and then write you email address and a password, and then click “save pushpin”, that’s easy right ?

Nats

Hey George

May not have been competing but did go along to support those that were. Besides, it was the only vitumin D I've found - they had sunshine over there.... what's with the Welly weather at the mo ? I've been away a month and sooooo wanting to get out for a fly !

D- the NZ weather has certainly been less than desired, no question about that. I think things are looking up for Wednesday....see you out there??

As for 'supporting the competitors', fair enough- but my first comments still apply. We have some great guys to fly with, but really- going to a comp and just watching- is like going along to an orgy- just to watch.
If most folks are better than you- it's a bit of a waste of time.

Speaking of weather....we've had a lot of unusual cold weather the last few weeks....hmmmm, who was recently down someplace cold- and maybe brought this stink weather back with him, I wonder.....

How many heli pilots are there in New Zealand & what are you flying?

to be honest George, I felt warmer camping @ -6 in Antarctica than Wellington is currently. It's a dry cold and there was no wind to drive it through you. I could have had a fly every day down there.....

The nationals was the first competition that I have ever competed in & I would have to say the most nerve racking experience that ive had flying a heli.
I would recommend anyone that is intersted in flying helis to give it a go.
I learned heaps in 3 days about F3C flying from other competitors & was really happy with the feed back & help they gave me.
People like Simon Lockington & Graeme Sontag that have previous experience in F3C flting were more than willing to assist anyone with questions on set up & flying techniques.
So if your not sure about competitions, Give it a go.
My flying improved just in the 3 days that I was there.

Rob your flying sucks. Of course it's only because it's so much better than mine. Thanks dude for the setup help on the 50....rocking along now. I found my flying improved radically throughtout the three days as well. Some excellent help. After Si gave the big thumbs up to the X-spec I'm thinking of a blackshark fuse for it as he reckons it would fly real nice F3C. (just needs better thumbs on the sticks) Also I'm ditching that PS (piece of $###) perry pump and putting on a 60k Carb. Thats all it needs and a lot of practice.....oh and dude seeing as you won the sportsman you are learning cobra rolls for next year!!!! LOL
Did Pete get his rekitted raptor in the plastic bag on the boat ok? Jeez he was a good sport about letting me win second place huh? Didn't need to ditch the rappy though....just a few bad moves would have done it.
Piro flips on my evo 50 suck big time.....at least until Si did them and then it behaved for him even though it was flying like a bag of poo.

Thanks again to the organisers. Thanks to Si and Graeme for their F3C input.
G2......We really expected to see your pansy ass over there.....You could fly in the clubman and do well. Missed ya there big guy.
Cheye thanks for coming over to support us...As always we appreciated someone nice to look at (yeah head swell down mate...were talking about ailis)
For such a small group of heli pilots it was quite a good turn out. Pete and Rob representing the south....those cheeky buggers have been hiding out and practising....That was quite a trip so thanks for coming up guys.
John Knox, Graham Sontag, Neil Harker and Neil Parkinson from up North came quite a way. Si came from Aussie! (and made it a trip to see folks as well but a big effort to get heli's here etc) Sorry if anyone came futher and hasn't been mentioned but for a small group it makes it worthwhile when people travel a long way to compete.
A few faces were missed due to other committments.
George Henry from palmy....I can't fly for $### compared to some of those guys so I dunno what flying display you were watching but then your a buddy so I guess you had to say that.....LOL...thanks for taking photo's and getting them up on active gear. I'm sure Ang and Rhyno have lots of photo's too.
Apart from the wind which didn't stop me burning 14 litres it was a cool three days.
I'll do it again.

Hey Helinut AKA Glenn, Thanks dude yeah my flying does suck, I cant wait to get better, Another year of practice before the next nationals.
Cobra rolls hmmm looks like the hack is going to get a bit of punishment.
Glad your 50 is rocking now, I wouldn't leave those bearing to much longer now its running a bit leaner.

We got our helis on the ferry without too many problems, Had a lot of people intested in them & lots of questions.
Peters 90 was hiding in the corner in a bag, With a few carbon bits hanging out the side.
I think I was more gutted than he was when it went in, At least it didnt do the funky chicken.
