Well that is great thank-you. It is nice to know there are others in the area. I actually stumbled upon a field a few miles from here but have not met anyone yet. I will have to go over this weekend to find out more. I am a little intimidated by the fact that I am so new to this that all I can do is hover and crash. I guess I just need to get over it.

Thanks again for your reply.

Oh yeah, well everyone was at that stage one point in time, so the better pilots know that and should be willing to help you. I havent went to a club around here that hasnt wanted to help soemone getting started. pratice is all you can do, I can only hover also thinking about going to my club feild today maybe. I kinda feel silly just hovering around 4 foot or less to the ground but thatys more then others in my club could do they dont fly helis lol

I couldnt find that club I was thinking about sorry. but if you found one that sounds good, see if they have any info up maybe you could contact someone the pres. and find out a little about them.

you belong to AMA? if you want to fly at a club feild you have to join the AMA and all.

I used to fly at the paulding field behind the waste site. Great place to fly, but have you noticed its always windy as hell there, when its calm everywhere else? I used to fly fixed wing trainer there. Enjoyed it alot, but I couldn't afford the ama this year, maby in 07

Don't really care about joining the club. It hasn't seemed like what it used to be, and (no heli pilots)

I used to sneak in during the week and fly when nobody was there, but I see they fixed that now

Its ok, I have access to enough cow pastures to fulfill my needs for flying. The front yard flying is a little tight at times, but It keeps me on my toes

We should fly together sometime

Well I am a member of Paulding county and douglas county. Paulding had to put up a fence cause people were useing the shooting range that is property of the PC police department.
there the ones who put up the fence, not the flying club, we only agreed to them doing it as we dont want no troble with them cause were going to lose the feild soon enough anyways with the new seven hills sudivisions right beside us...

I understand about the keeping you on your toes, I autally just moved into my gfs house and her back yard is so small compared to mine lol i hovered a lil but thats it. no foward flight at all here.. I will have to go to the local park for that ( hunter park)

happy flying ....
and Hope everyone has a merry christmas.

Mtn Heli Man,I live in pickens.I try to fly behind autozone. There are a few nice folks that fly up there ,but it is windy and most of these kids around here like to leave trash.i figure it would be shut down pretty quick.I think i'm at about the same point that you are.Hovering and crashing, some forward flight, but that usually ends up in a tangled mess when i turn around and try to come back. There is a field over towards marble hill but i have never seen any helis.if you find a place let me know.

maybe we should start our own club!

It seems a little expensive to be able to fly at the Cobb County RC club....besides..if you are just hovering ( and crashing ) like me, then the added stress of people watching you is not worth it...I also seem to get into the worst crashes when i turn around and everything is backwards ( except for DOWN ! )..I heard there is a place in Marietta right by the trash dump and the county jail complex....it is off of County Services road, and I think it is called "Bishop Field"..they got baseball fields and my neighbor says rc fields too! i think it may be free?

thats a good idea..

I know where Jasper is....I ride my motorcycle up that way when im not flying/crashing my 2 heli's! I wonder if it is windy up there because of elevation? We are at 1200 ft above sea level here in Marietta..and this has been a very WINDY year..it seems that whenever i want to fly my heli, carry a piece of 4x8 plywood, or rake my lawn..the wind kicks up!! I was able to hover quite a bit today, but after the 3rd battery charge, the wind got me going in that "death spiral" where the heli starts acting like its being flushed down the toilet!
Maybe we can find someplace in between..or maybe someone will read this thread who owns a little bit of land that a few of us can get together one day and "break some blades"!

I can fly helis at my house < I have moved back into my parents house as thery have moved into a new house and wanted someone to watch over this place unill they sell it.

I am planing on getting a Trex450 and a Dx7 within a week or two so hope I be doing some heli flying my Blade has been messed up, with radio issues

Chief Wilson,

Thanks so much for the invite, be careful I am going to take you up on it. How many folks fly helis out there? Looking forward to bringing the Trex 600 up for a few flights. (I am currently only working on circuits but have a blast doing it!) See you sometime soon.

hey fellas we're 3 nitro pilots that try & fly together about every weekend

my buddy & I (both Rappy 50's) are here in Newnan, and this other guy we fly with is in Stone Mtn (he's on RR here as ZXXFlyer)

we were wondering whether there were other heli pilots in our Newnan- Peachtree City-Fayetteville area we might could get together with

thx
