Does anyone know if the new 9C Futaba TX can be made synthesizable with the addition of a TK or TKFSS module in the back?
I know that the 9Z can be with a TKFSS. I also know that I can make my 8U synthesizable but I wanted to know if the 9C can also be made synthesizable.

Thanks,

Sharam

I asked Great Plaines and they said no you can't synthesize a 9C. I was kind of bummed but I guess that is how they get you to buy a 9Z...

Sharam,
Any infor about making the 8U super synthesizable? would be kind of interesting to know how.
How you like the FMA co-pilot Btw?

Don't believe all you hear

I have TWO 9C's and I have put my Hitec synthesize modules in both of them. They have worked flawlesly and ranged checked to over 100 ft on different frequencys.
The Hitec RCD4400 modules are $99 thru Tower and most other places.

BTW, it says in the owners manual that you can get the futaba high $$$ Synt module for it.

Hi Heli_Gal,
I made my 8U synthesizable with the RCD 4400 as vetrider pointed out one could do. The RCD 4400 has two separate dials on its side that allow you to just dial in whatever freq you want. I would imagine the 8U Super will also work but I can't tell you for sure. BTW, the RCD 4400 just plugs in the back of the 8U where the crystal box goes.

The FMA co-pilot works really well. I have posted my experience on this forum. If you do a search, you will see all my comments. In my mind, the unit does exactly what it was advertised to do.

Vetrider,
Thanks for your comment re your 9C experience. You gave me the answer I was hoping for!! I have purchased a R309DPS Futaba receiver and now with the 9C TX and the RCD4400, I should be able to dial in any frequency I need.

Thanks for the comments from others as well.

I hear ya, David. But the 9C has no menu that lets you get to a freq change option, in PPM or PCM modes. I'll bet my FCC General Lic. that there is no difference except in moneys required to get the units. If you look at the standared module (single freq) it's made by the same company for both Hitec and Futaba.
It'll be easier to prove the compairability in court than the difference.

Just my opinion and it be humble.

9c freq module

I have the rcd module and tested it in my 8 super and it works fine. Unfortunantly they have changed the way they plug into the back of the transmitter in the 9c and they won't fit. At least thats the way I remember it looking. I dont have a 9c but looked at a friends.

Vertrider what page does it say you can use the $$$ synt module for the 9C I can't seem to find it. I have another question I switched from 39 to 57 on my receiver and was told that was ok but I read in the manual that you can't do that with out getting your receiver re tuned is this the case or just Futaba trying to make some extra $$$.

Vetrider, I agree with David on this, if you were to go into court on a fatality that happened while using that combination, I dought they would even consider your arguements about how similiar the two products are, only that the FCC has declared the combination you are using to be illegal.
Xcelllogo, you shouldn't have any problems with your reciever crystal switch, I accidently bought a new 149DP for high band when I needed one for low band ( I forgot where the switch point is), but when I put in a channel 37 crystal and range checked it, I gave up walking at 160 feet. If yours range checks ok, it should be allright to fly.

ok thanks I was worried ,the switch point is 35 and I went from 11 to 57 so I was a little concerned but I tested it and the range was great...

Dyehard, I agree

I agree there's not a lot of common sense in the courts these days.

I can just relate what I'm experiencing. I don't advocate that anyone has to do my way.

xcelllogo, I miss read the 9Z to mean they were offering a new Systh module for the 9C. Read more on that below. My Bad, Sorry

I currently transmitte on Chan 13, 34, and 56 with no problems or bad range checks on my Hitec Supreme receivers. (all 4 RX's so far)
I have not used the Futaba RX's yet.
I will be using my Futaba FM R148 soon. It'll get the same respect and range checks as my other RX's

Futaba 9C
Get your glasses on to read the pic of Page 8 listed Here sorry, I didn't want to upload a large file size to Marks server.

I know what it says and I know what TX/RX theory is.

How long before they sell us an syth module for the 9C?And at what price?
