Bloody hell.........I cant stop my frigging Sceadu 50 fluttering........this is pissing me off. I installed the collective servo as suggested without the brass insert, and with the extra metal plates.
Arse, arse and thrice arse I say.

Nevermind, just had to share that. i feel better now

Will,

You're probably using 600 MS blades. Switch to V-Blades. Check this post for more information on the Sceadu Flutter.

I see that ColeopTer has provided the link to a previous post, my question would be what collective servo and what blades are you using. I had to cover my daughters ears when I read your post, hahaha. Of course I'm sympethetic about the flutter, but the Brit lingo made me laugh.

Cheers,

Richard.

well I am using the MS 600mm blades. They never fluttered before. I have just changed the servo arms from the JR style star that comes as standard, to JR super servo arms all round. I can induce a flutter just by putting in a medium amount of elevator or aileron while in a hover....its really easy to make it do it. I'm using a DS8301 on collective.
This is the only thing spoiling an excellent heli right now. V-Blades aren't really an option over here in UK. I've never seen them on sale here and if they were they'd be mentally expensive I'm sure. Maybe I'll try the SAB's out. I tried with the blade grips tighter, its better but still fluttering. Buggeration.

Richard Felkins Vor503rf) together with Jeff Green from MRC did a bit of research on this and they found out that the MS 600 blades tend to flutter in quite a few Sceadus.

My wife, who is a Scot, has offered to translate any Brit slang for you guys at the paltry rate of $5 a word...

I hear you about getting V Blades, WillB; with that communist VAT you guys have to pay, I don't see how you can afford the hobby at all.

But if you can get your hands on a set of V Blades, you will find that they are the bees knees...

Okay I think I got the idea. The bloody MS 600 Blades while heavier than the V-Blades had a different spanwise CG. Those MS blades gave me a bugger of a time, forced me to follow the directions with the eyelets and compression plates too! If you remove the MS blades, the bloody problem will go away.

Us Americans are a strange group aren't we. We can say all those slangs by varying ways of saying, "DUDE"!

It's true Rotor, but I do have the advantage of living a few miles from Clairemont High that Sean Penn made so famous in "Fast times at Ridgemont High"

I have a 16 year old daughter going to this High School now, she does have her own custom surf board and gets straight A's.

She doesn't care about Helicopters or flying at all.

Party on Dude!

When I first read that she isn't into heli's or flying, I thought, "Whoa Dude!" but she's only 16 now. She still has plenty of time to take up flying and heli's. Not all is lost she'll come around!!! heheh

I will buy those ms blades from you.
Or if you are interested in a trade of some kind.
I live in seattle WA and work at Microsoft.
I can get crazy cheap prices on computer equipment.
I also have a lot of extra hobby stuff.
