CAD - Engineering - Technical > Tricky shaft dimension. Help needed

I designed and built small coaxial rotor helicopter but unfortunately undersized the inner shaft to the upper rotor. It’s currently 3 mm diameter. There is no way I can replace it to a 4mm shaft without redesigning the entire heli A 3.5mm shaft would however be easy to fit and would likely give the extra stiffnes I need. Problem is that it seems impossible to find shaft material of that dimension. I was hoping that anyone here could give me some tip where I can get such material.

Thanks

Does it need to be a precision fit for a ball bearing or just a size between 3mm and 4mm? If it doesn't need to fit a ball bearing, you can use a drill rod, drill blanks or reamer blanks in decimal inch sizes (drill sizes)and also metric drill blanks for example at:http://www.drillblanks.com/metric_sizes.html (haven't used company before, just did Google search).

Drill blank will be a few ten thousanths oversize, a reamer blank a few ten thousanths undersize. You would want a reamer blank if it needs to fit inside a ball bearing. Hope this may help.

Regards,
Rick
