Hi all
Not interlay sure if this is the right forum to post this but here goes.

I got a Jamara Corsair and have almost complete building it now. But as I have to put the cover over the engine I notes that the grey plastic engine look alike don’t fit. There is not enough room between the engine and the grey plastic thing can I fly whit out it?
it looks like this right now (Got picks in my gallery there you can see the grey engine look a like thing)

The next thing I notes is that when I put the engine cover on my corsair it looks to be way off the centre when you look directly at the front. Even when mounded straight after the centre marks, on the plane. No doubt this is because the engine had to be mounted (according to the manual) pointing 2 degrees down and 2 degrees to the right.
But what do I do now? Do I mount the engine cover so that is looks like it fits from the back/side/top/bottom of the plane?
Ore do I mount it so it looks to fit when you look at the front of the plane?
Hope you all understand I try writing as good as I can.

I break I buy I am learning to fly :p

I love the look of the Corsair. I have not got the chance to build one yet, but love the look..

Regarding the 'dummy' engine in the cowl, Most suggest that you fly without it installed. This gives you better cooling over the engine. Keep it available for static display.

Yes, the engine cowl will be offset a bit due to the down and side thrust of the model engine.

What I do is cut a disk (out of cardboard or stiff paper) the same diameter as the propeller and put it on the engine shaft in front of the cowl. This simulates the plane of a spinning propeller. Then 'average' out the angle between the fuselage and the propeller to what fits and looks the best. You probably won't be able to go straight in line with the fuselage because you will be too close to the prop on one side.. So, just put the disk on in place of the propeller and mount the cowl where it looks like a good balance between the two.

Again, nice looking airplane, did it come with retracts and flaps??

Blue Skies,There's nothing wrong with a Raptor 60!!

thanks.

Hi Tom Berg thanks for the reply

I will get right on it tomorrow and do it the way you said.
Sounds a little like what I had in mind but just wanted to make sure after all it’s the first time I have tried to build a plane (ARTF)
Also spend about 6 months building on it a little at the time. (When I could find time)

I am glad that you like the plane I also just love the looks the corsair have. Mostly the curved wings but had have a lot of problems with this Jamara model.
Things where not as shown on the manual, parts where missing and ended up just making a lot of it the way I got it to make the most sense.
The model store where I bought it now no longer sells jamara products because I am not the only one to have problems whit this corsair.
The retracts that jamara sold whit the plane did not fit at all. And got the wrong canopy whit it had to wait 2 months to get the right one. And are still waiting to get my money back for the retracts. (Not that I count on getting them back now)

And the other pilots at my field have told me I won’t be able to fly this model. When I have not flown a nitro plane before have a multiplex easy glider electrical and have flown it 4-5 times (about 2 ouhers of flight a time) and crashed it 2 times. The first time I lost control and hammered it striate in to the ground (coast a servo gear) and the second time I climbed to fast whit to little power and I stalled? And tumbled down (no damage)

But again thanks for the help Tom Berg nice to finally be able to finish it now

edit. "Again, nice looking airplane, did it come with retracts and flaps??"

Wups forgot to reply on that all thou I have told about the retracts.
The retracts where bought as extra. (All thou they did not fit even thou it say so on the package they came in)
No it have not got flaps.

more info:
It’s a 50 sized plane it ways (according to the box did not way mine yet) 2750g to 2850g (2.750 killo to 2.850 killo) Got a ASP 61 four stroke on it. and futaba 3001 servos hope they can manage to controle and hols the ruders.
The body is constructed of fibreglass so is the engine cover.
The wings and the elevator wing + the movable part of the ruder is constructed of wood. The front not movable part of the ruder is constructed of fibreglass to.
The mount the tank and electronics are mounded on is constructed of wood and there are round wood panel mounded in the body of the plane.
The front of the plane where the engine is mounded on is constructed of thick wood and fibreglass.
The landing gear is a bit thin and can move a bit from side to side.

I break I buy I am learning to fly :p
