Hi Jeff,

These are open to interpretation but I'll will try:

Knife edge tic toc circles or funnels

The helicopter is traveling forward or backwards into a tight
circle or funnel. At the same time the heli is on its side.
Using the right and left cyclic you move back and forth left and
right using negative or positive pitch to maintain altitude plus trading your airspeed for lift at the same. Depending on the speed of the
tic toc will determine how much negative or positive pitch required to maintain altitude. To reduce mental load I will apply pitch either negative or positive to maintain altitude. The slower I have my tic toc
action the more application of pitch is required for me.

So whats going on in your mind is:

Maintaining a circle or funnel

Keeping a the cyclic moving left and right consistently

Maintaining altitude. Brain teaser!!!

Variations of this manuever are: Tail down, Nose Down , and piroetting!

Knife edge loop! Same as above but simply looping the aircraft!
Variations: Forward flight, Backwards Flight, Tail Down , Nose down
and piroetting: All above manuevers will tic toc'ing

Piroetting Tic Tocs: All of the above but piroetting: Full Tilt Brain fry!!

Hey Jeff,
I am still working on all these manuevers and have not perfected them
yet, but I hope I will in about 50 more gallons.

Thanks
Kam

whew...that has my cranium spinning faster than a 30 second keg stand...

How many degrees from vertical/knife edge to left/right cyclic do you estimate for the "Knife edge tic toc circles"?

Cheers...Jeff

Hi Jeff

The more speed forward or backwards that you have since( your trading airspeed for lift) the more knife edge that you can stay! Also,
the more power your craft has the more knife edge you can stay!

If the helicopter is in a pure knife edge example: using a clock as an
example: 12:00 o'clock strait up is the left tip and 6:00 o'clock right
tip you would be a pure knife edge orientation. 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock
disk is level. What is amazing just like tumbles for and aft cyclic you
can easily do those a zero pitch. The same apply's to the tic toc but
you can't maintain the altitude at zero pitch. Ok, back to question:
Rotating right 12:30 to 2:30 and Left 9:30 and 11:30 this is completely
customizable, I have seen all types of speed variations and also depends on how much power your craft can produce. More power,
more vertical knife edge manuevers. 90 Size heli easier to perform
these manuvers, sustained

Anyway ,I hope this helps and just as amazing as these manuevers are
it is a matter of time before someone dreams up something else.

Best Regards
Kam

Angle Pimpin!

HC,

Will do all of these and put a twist be doing them at different angles.

I just let HC invent them and I try to copy them! Thanks
HC for all the Hard work

It may cost me a few machines getting close to the deck but I'll
keep tryin!

Best Regards

Henry

Way down in Australia we have heard your name mentioned as a great
So my question is what is the minimum setup for a Rap 50 with an OS 46 to do Tic Tocks
Coll servo speed and power
Im going to try a Muscle pipe
And do you reckon an 8231on collective will do it
Thanks

Geo,

The 8231 has good torque, but it's kinda slow.. I think you will benefit better with a servo with around .14 or .16 for speed and atleast 65 oz or More of torque... It would be also helpful to match the speed of the throttle and collective servo as close as you can..

You may also add some ksj's , and a good set of blades to your raptor for a quicker response . I do suggest installing the paddles in the front holes so that it's not so pitchy in forward flight.

Fast servos help out alot it will make your chopper feel more responsive and crisp during flight..

hope this helps

Great Henry

I have just heard of you as you are famous for doing Kaos in both directions apparantly, well done
yes I use the KSJ'S
Yes the 8231 is a little slow. But Furious said , can be done with a 9202 ,
The 8231 will be better than my 8101
Thanks
Will try
Geo
Yes 0.16 is tempting
I got an ABC liner for my 46 that has a chrome bore
Not electroless nickel
The chrome is 68 Rockwell C Hardness and Nickel is around 55
So you can see why the nickel wears a little quicker
