| Although I respect your flying experience, I disagree with your opinion that the Blade is not a good beginner's helicopter.
I am a female fixed wing RC pilot and a budding RC helicopter pilot. The Blade CX was my first helicopter--it was cost-effective enough that I wasn't worried about crashing it, yet the controls work the same as the bigger machines so it let me see if I really liked flying helicopters before investing in a pricier machine (um...I did like it, by the way).
I usually got in about 10 minutes per flight, which was about all I wanted at the beginning. It was VERY beginner-friendly. I had NO difficulty seeing it--it is BRIGHT YELLOW! Extra batteries and parts are very inexpensive. The true beauty of this little machine (for me) was that I could fly it right in the house. In the evening, when my husband and I were watching television, I would fly during the commercials. I think I got in more flying time that way than I would have with a bigger heli that had to fly outside. I had a blast practicing my landings on the coffee table and doing figure-8s in the living room. The entire time I flew it, the only parts we ever needed to buy were extra blades & batteries. I did bend the flybar a few times, but simply bent it back into position.
The Blade CX was less intimidating to me than a Trex or larger heli would have been at the time. I did eventually upgrade to a Trex because I wanted to fly outdoors and at the flying field. By that time, I had confidence in managing helicopter controls and it made the transition MUCH easier.
I think the decision of what to buy depends on the indivual who will be flying the helicopter. Her level of confidence in herself should be a factor, as should her personal prefernces regarding size & level of difficulty. Some women like to dive right in, and others prefer to dip their toes in first.
Happy Flying!
