I've built my own variant of the BCP with a TREX boom/belt etcplus a 40 slot pulley in front mounted under a NR3D main shaft, gear, 20A venom ESC and 3200kv Venom motor. 10 tooth pinion from a BCP motor. Head is BCP. 3s 1320mah for juice. All up wieght is 18 oz. Flys like a REX. How musch are your 300HDX's coming in at?

Should've bought a sim. Got a bucket of used blades!

I taught myself on the BCP, no sim. learned how to fly in the wind 'cause it's almost always windy or breezy. If you can handle the HDX 300 then you can fly the T-REX. It has much more 'presence' when it's near you hovering. It flys better than I do! All tricked out on max throws(determined by the head clearances) it'll do stationary flips in its own length. Same with rolls. I am not good enough to hover continuously inverted yet but I get in 10 to 15 seconds on some trys. Just a matter of more stick time.

Enjoy the 300.

I do enjoy my mod, though, it's easier to maneuver in my front yard.
I call it the Ty-Wrap-tor because the earliest version of it had everything held on with Tywraps

Timing pulleys

Stock Drive Products / Sterling Instrument. I'll post the part # in a few. There are many different configs of hubs/flanges etc. mine had no hub just a shaft hole. I bolted through it into the NR3D gears flange mount. Part #s to follow.

The belt for T-Rex's is an MXL pitch .080". I used a 40 tooth although I also bought a 26 but haven't tried it. I may shorten my boom/belt setup. I had 2 flanges, no hub just a hole and that bigger than the main shaft. I used the NR3D shaft/flange/gear. The flange has 4 2mm tapped holes for mounting the gear and a setscrew to secure to shaft. 3mm shaft. If anuone is looking for shaft stock in 3mm I used flybars, from a Hirobo chopper, that I found at the LHS,2 flybars for 11 bucks makes about 8 shafts!
Had an interesting flight this afternoon. The BCP head has been getting a little worn and unbalance maybe. The Tywraptor has such high head speed even on 10 tooth that it finally bent the shaft in flight. The batterysook off at about 30 feet into the grass... it's ok... the bird ended exactly nose downand the plywood battery tray stuck into the ground like a lawn dart!!! no other damage than the already bent shaft! New head soon <<<I love this heli>>>

The pic shows my previous motor an Eflite 3700kv, gutless compared to the Venom NR3D motor.
