Finished

Tim,

Just curious, where did you come up with the tail number? As I understand it the USCG had and original fleet of 93 (or is it 97, well 90-something) HH-65 Dolphin's and all of the tail numbers started with 65. My machine, for example is 6577 and its sister ship was 6543....

Just wondering.....

Tail Number Dave

I Got Lazy and used the Decal supplied by Vario!! I'm not sure it's wrong but, thats what was asked for. I did see in a coast guard book my neighbor had, this tail number -- however it was a different heli and Not the Dauphin! Photo looked to be about 20 or so years old. If I can find it again I will shoot you a pik.

Fly what you have, do not relay on electronics to help this phase of flight.

I made plugs to vacu-form all the little scoops and deflectors on the 65's if anybody's interested. I have the engine cover scoops, fresh air intake/exhaust shrouds, the shroud over the fen drive/pitch wire(for the Hirobo version, might fit the Vario as well).
I also have a pocket for the cargo hatch to make the compartment interior itself and I have the little pockets for the hull steps on the sides.
The parts are made of white styrene.

Multi Blade Gyro

These guys sell for about $300 -- what they do is take out the ballooning effect that occurs in high speed forward flight (There is a bit more Mass with 4 blades!) You have to use 4 servo CCPM for it to work -- I have a Brand New One in Packaging still if you want ($275 Shipped) I find if you are careful and watch your speed that you are OK but, With these Scale ships it does make things a little easier!! This Gyro Almost takes the Pitch curve out of play (Almost) as it adjusts Pitch to keep the helo from ballooning up as you turn or slowing into hover.

I think the Bostik we need is "Evo-stik EVO-GRIP" sold as a mastic type tube to go in a skeleton gun. I got some from B&Q this afternoon, it`s only £2.79 a tube. I`m building a Vario C/F Airwolf so I`m going to give this a go as it seems to have the same spec as Goop. I`ll keep you posted as to how good or bad it is.
