Not only would I use it in the UK, I even import it and use it here. You need to use a syringe to get an even layer, no needle. Goop is too thick and can squidge onto your window when you press it in, and Bostik is too runny direct from the tube, it will flow out too fast.

PFM is sold by my LHS

Go to the pub.....drool drool. Real beer with taste served at cellar temperature, instead of frozen gnats piss.

Makes me homesick.

Quick UK weather check.

Nope, I think I'll stay here

Peter you keep your sun I will just sit indoors for a month waiting for a day when there's no snow, rain and wind or any combination of the above. If you can remember where the field is and its not covered in water you might just get a flight.

Even going to the pub is hard hear in Scotland. But the rewards are so high, all that nice strong beer.

So when’s the next flight out

Cheers

I am thinking of building a Dauphin and I'm thinking of using Skyfox mechanics. Is that a good idea or not

As long as you use what they recommend for the skyfox as far as motor goes you will not have a problem

How much should the Dauphin weight. Also is it harder to fly multi-bladed heads and do you have touse the multi-bladed gyro.

It should weigh about 16lbs with the skyfox. The head flys nice, but even better with the gyro. If you have never flown a multi before, it would probably be money well spent.

Dauphin

Hi i have one of the Dauphin coast guard helicopters that Joe, built.
its the dauphin 2 on runryder. I will have to say i flown it once and the vario four blade rotor head i think flies fine with out the gyro. Im also not an extremely skilled in flying l but i have no problems in flying it. Im sure the multi blade gyro will help! Also i have no governor , the dauphin was built with skyfox mechanics with the rossie engine that's one good engine once you have tuned it gust right!. i hope this helps out .

Hey Raymond & Dave!

Wish this one was for me but, I am building this for someone else! I have about a month into this project now and it's ready except for some water transfers that Joe Howard is making! He is Fantastic and a great friend! The color is Omni MTV Bright Red, The problem is -- if you go look at Coast Guard Heli's you will find about 15 different Colors of RED!! So you will have to take your photo's of the one you are building and Match as close as you can!! Sorry!
This Vario Dauphin has Sky Fox Mechanics, Electric Retracts, Running Lights with Beacon, Instrument Lights and Spot light, Working Winch, Fully Carpeted interior (Mechanics are hidden) and aprox 5000 Rivits done with one of those turkey injectors with RC56 ! Once you start you just can't stop!!! My next one will be even better!!!

4 Bladed head

Hi Doc,

Nice job, I'l be cracking on with a BO105 in the next week or so but a few questions for you, the head is that the new vario head with 2 bolts securing each blade or the older bendix head.

You mentioned carpet, where did you get hold of that, the fuse I am making up is a graupner jobbie wiht expert mechs, it has a scale extras pack which includes modt of the cockpit, it's not too bad but mostly blown plastic and needs a bit of work to get it looking decent, I may line the inside of the cockpit with it.

What did you deicde to use PFM or GOOP, Im in the UK so may only have access to the PFM, just fancy a changed from epoxy and weave !!!

How did you fix your windows in , were they filled and then cleared over, the cocpit detail is alos nice, how did you do it.

Long reply so if you like email me.

Cheers

Lee

The head is the Old Bendix, I use felt for the carpet as the weeve is pretty close to scale. I went ahead with the old Fashioned way of doing things with Fiberglass (I put PFM on the upper body supports for a test and they are STRONG!!) The Instrument panel is a scan of a photo of the Dauphin Panel. I Printed a transparency then cut out some wood to match the holes and glued them together. I then added some 5volt lights behind the panel to light them up!! They look great at night! Take your time and think Small!!
