Synergy R/C Synergy N9 > The balls and ball links in the kit?

thenewguyVeteran - Location: The Moon! -
Now, I've got to looking at mine, and noticed there is slop in almost all the balls and ball links. I know this has been talked about already. I was just wondering how all the other kits are. It's threw the head and on the tail. You can move the tail about 3mm of play. Now please don't turn this post into a pissing match of I told you so. All I want is people who have kits to grab there tail rotors and see if there is a lot of play. Also check the head. If yours has a lot of play please post and let me know. I'm thinking I might have all the balls plated to reduce this play. Do any of you out there know about plating? If so, how much should I have them plated if I took them to a shop? Also what should they be plated with? Please chime in and help me with my questions. Also I know this might be the way they come in the kit. What I want to do is make my synergy the best I can make it. If that means taking on a little extra work my self, I'm going to do it. Also My Synergy flies AWSOME.

Thanks Chris

Contact your dealer and ask for the new balls.

It was a QC issue form the factory (like the rest of the issues) that caused an undersizing of the balls. They needed a plated layer.

The balls have been a consistent issue on this heli. If they were 4mm i think I would have replaced all the links. 5mm makes it a bit difficult to.

As it has been stated already new balls are in the works so be patient. I know Synergy is working on getting us new balls. Last I heard Jason had samples but he was still working things out with the manufacture.

Check this Synergy forum as others have suggested a method to temporarily tighten the links.

I have not heard anything was wrong with the ball links other than the short versions were not in the first kits. No big deal as you can cut then down to 19.5mm each and problem fixed.

When I first built my heli the ball and ball links were very tight (I'll use the term links to mean the balls and ball links). After several flights I noticed the main blades having a little play and then after a few more flights noticed the tail blades having a bit of play. I've made 77 flights so far and the play in the links is still there but not getting any worse. I'm having a blast flying the N9, loose links and all. Cutting grass is a bit more tricky as I have to wait for the wind and model to settle before getting very low.

Ahhh....Charles

So now you are saying you can feel the slop in the links while you are flying, thankyou.

You see i couldn't because i took it all away.

I don't recall making any comments about the loose ball links before now. I'll let you go through my posts to confirm.

I'm probably causing the heli to be unstable if I'm low enough to cut grass in the wind.

I really don't have a big issue with the current ball/links. I'm now running 25 percent expo on 9255s and to tell you the truth the heli is precise around center for my 3d flying. I'm not in to FAI hovering but can do a fare representation. I'm sure it will fly better with newer balls.

Yes Synergy has provided me new balls. I am flying much lower and faster than ever before. My knees are another thing and I'm hoping Synergy provides ones that don't shake.

raptorheli2,

It was a joke. I don't have any new Synergy balls.

The new balls are still in the works.
