Trying to remove the engine, and i am stuck with the hex adapter that doesn't want to be removed.

Any ideas please?

get a screwdriver and your starter put the screwdriver under the hex starter with a little pressure use the starter too spin it off as sometimes you get a slight lip on the start shaft when you tighten up the grub screw

Put an allen key onto a clutch bolt and wind the hex adapter off with another.

Quotes may have been changed for my own amusement

now the starter shaft is a bit worn and taking out the bearing block is another challenge...

just make sure the shaft has no burrs on it and out it comes

USE TWO SCREW DRIVER

The coupler will come much earier if you use two srew drivers on either side for even leverage....it works...

try sanding it to make it smoth in the bearing before chucking it

try a razor to cut off any bers on the shaft.
