I left a gap of about 1 mm. on each side. That meant that the seesaw would slide 2 mm. total. That was enough to make it impossible to even spool up.

Now, I leave it in direct contact with the lever and have found no more problems. I have finally been able to hover for hours...

Another issue that now that I am hovering I have run into, is that the blades loose track very easily. In other words, I set the pitch and throttle curves as per the manual (using a JR 8103)and after a few packs (I use 2,000 mA for every 10 mins of hovering) the model started to vibrate a little. I went nuts checking all the shafts, all the levers and rods, everything, only to find out that the blades were off track again. Obviously I had not hit anything nor had I landed hard either, so the last thing I had in mind was the tracking.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

By the way, after re-setting the pitch curve it got right on track and the vibrations went away.

Take the feathering shaft (spindle) out of the head and inspect it. If it is at all bent, the tracking can change as the spindle rotates. Use a sheet of glass or something equally flat and look at how flat the spindle will lie on the glass (as you slowly roll it, so you inspect it all the way around).

The stock part is very soft and can be bent just by the inertia of the blades in a heavy landing - no crash needed. The hardened upgrade is much more tolerant of mild abuse.

Did you try to spool up without blades installed? with the gap and without gap, is any difference?

With the gap and no blades, I didn´t appreciate any wobble. With the blades, it was impossible to even past 10% throttle. Right now, I just leave no gap at all, and have had no problems.

not the same heli but i had the same problem on a trex and it turned out it was one of the feathering shaft screws had come slightly loose. what happened was as i inspected it the shaft would naturally center up then when i spooled up the ever so slightly heavier blade would draw the feathering shaft to the heavy side and a wobble would start. i only found it after i decided to just rebuild the whole head assembly and when i went ot un-screw the feathering shaft screws it was apparent that one or both were loose. i simply retightened them, put the blades back on and problem solved!
