Jack i wasn't quoting real ratios i was quoting the N9 tail ratio seeing that i thought we were, and i stress that in the past tense, in the synergy n9 forum.

Thanks

I appreciate everybody opinion's on the subject. All inputs have been engaged with a open mind. I guess the intent on the initial post was to see what the masses have experienced up to this point. I tend to be very anal about a build and enjoy all aspects in the process, negative and positive. This leads to all of the questions to educate myself, and hopefully others about the design. The day that I stop learning is the day I will quit the hobby, more of a passion for me.

Now if I could just get a new mainshaft I would be ready to fly. You guys take it easy I have another post to create

Hi Spookyeng,

It's normal for grip designs with a single radial + single thrust bearing will have the kind of play you describe (e.g. the Fury series) - grips with 2 radial bearings + thrust bearing (e.g. JR, Robbe) don't.

If you REALLY want to you could add shims to remove the bladegrip endplay at the risk of preloading the thrust bearings. It will make no difference in the air. Also make SURE that you assemble the thrust-bearings the correct way as stated in the manual - this is not subject to opinion, they only work properly when installed correctly.

Droid. you are a nice guy eh? I am not the one swearing at people (FU to be precise) That was really grown up wasn't it? You say you were born in 1975 well maybe you were but you sure act like you were born a lot later.
My tail buzz was nothing to do with gain. You obviously don't know the two problems over gain or under gain causes but it ain't buzzing. It pretty much tells people here you are an unworthy source of information.
Next time you would like to abuse someone with profanity at least have the decency to keep it out of these posts. grow up man.

There....a reliable source of information has spoken. The thrusts only go one way......but you go ahead and run them backwards. The designer cannot be right can he.

Thrust races in back to front. Gotta love it.

Cheers, Will.

Obviously people only read what they want i posted that i was born in 1974, go back and check. And i was pushed to the little 2 letter incident, my frustration here is £699 of messing around; but i'm the only one with a duff kit.

Like i said previously , you can knock me for the thrusts, but i'll knock all of you with high end servos on this sloppy linkage set.

And as for the designer can't be right. They have only borrowed ideas from other manufacturers, can't say i see they've reinvented the wheel- can you!

actually droid

i have flown a synergy with a low cost servo set. it also had a lower end gyro in it. i built it. it flew at lower speeds pretty well, however, it became more of a handful flying in fff. this was apparent to not only me, but everyone watching as well when flown back to back with an otherwise identical machine.

so, it seems that your low end servo idea doesn't apply in the real world. i have tried it. have you? it was readily apparent to everyone there. so perhaps your knocking of high end servos isn't warranted after all?

still waiting for that video of the added precision you obtained from tightening up your links.

don't be upset, i've tried the combination and have learned from it. perhaps you could learn too. put away the pride and let's all learn together. i'm sure you have alot to offer.

there is something about flying this machine which feels very special. everyone who has flown one in anger agrees. if that doesn't warrant a standing ovation from the peanut gallery, i don't know what to say.

peace,

hans

I just got off the phone with Todd and he said the blade grips are OK with the side play in them. He said his helicopter has got the same side play in them with no problems. Take it easy.
