Hi,

My x3d seems very sluggish, using MS116, Tsunami motor 25t pinion, +/-10, TP1320 3s. The climb out is very poor, it just don't seem right

Throttle curve's are Norm 0,10,35,70,100 idel 1 100,80,70,80,100 & idle 2 100,90,80,90,100

End point on the Throttle ch are 100/100, esc is in Normal mode.

Tail kicks when you climb, but I know this must something to do with the low on power.

Any ideas ?

Could I have a bad esc.

Make sure your esc is synced with your throttle range? Power on the esc with the throttle stick in the highest position and wait for a melody then lower the stick to lowest and wait for beep/s.

You might try more aggressive throttle curves like mine..
Normal = 0,25,40,55,100
Idle-up 1 = 100,90,85,90,100
Idle-up 2 = 100,100,100,100,100

Ok, just tried all that, headspeed did seem better but still felt sluggish. I can pump the collective up and down quite a bit and the heli doesn't move alot ? but i have definatly got +/-10

I don't think I've ever put a pitch gauge on my Hornet - I just set the pitch range to what the mechanics allow (+/-15°?) and since I usually fly full throttle I just rely on my collective management to provide the neccessary amounts of pitch.

It should go up like rocket with this combo ?

What about my throttle endpoints, try increasing them ?

I believe that's the same combo Eric Larson is using with what looks like rocket ship performance to me.

You might try bumping your pitch range up to +/-12° and see what happens.

I also have a cyclic/throttle mix at +/-25 which seems to help.

use more pitch....the hornet head seems to be at large pitch angles while in the air the blades lag a little and use the slop to fly at less pitch....just increase the pitch untill it gets lively...
