I use 1/16 G10 garolite fiberglass for my rotor heads. I also use a baseplate the same shape but thicker with larger holes to keep the rotors from drooping down too far on a hard landing and preventing a tail strike.

i was going to use a piece of aluminum (thin) on the bottom to support the blades and 1 0r 2 layers of that plastic to make the top. i guess i would need o makes the holes bigger also for lead / lag wouldnt i? didnt really think of that yet

i know it well. i used to service machines in that area. my mom works up the 17 from you in ramsey. do you use the hobby shop up in ramsey at all? do you fly at the field in ramsey by the train tracks on the dead end with the commercial buildings around it? thats going back 10 years or so it may not be there any more.

No. The shopp in Ramsey is not selling much RC stuff anymore....mostly trains.

I fly in Wayne, NJ (Wayne Modelers). I buy most of my stuff from Hobby Hut on Rt. 23 in Pomptain Plains. Awesome place to buy plane stuff. She can get anything you need.

I used to fly in Moonachie at Hackensack Valley Flyers. The new president is lacking the skills that one looks for in a club president. His mullet hair cut may give you a hint of his social skills.... I quit that club and I am very happy at Wayne Modelers. We also have a feild up in Warwick NY whick is HUGE and hardly anyone flies there. Makes for a nice day!

hobby hut on 23 in wayne? there used to be a huge hobby store just up top of the 23/ 287 intersection is that the same place? i think the owners name was lou. cant remeber. he usedto have an indoor car rac track or even a few of them. he down sized tothe other side of the building and stopped the races.

there used to be a big shop over by teterboro airport im prety sure that was on rt 23 also- just past 17. but i didnt think it was in wayne, maybe east rutherford.
is that white castle still on 17? loved that place

I know Rodman...but he joined another feild. We fly off of Pine Island Rd. A farmer lets us fly there. Nicest guy in the world.

Zepplin Hobbies is on 23 past 287. US Hobbies is in Moonachie. New management now....much better heli selection. The guy running it is real cool. The feild down the road from US Hobbies has turned out really bad. New members are NOT allowed to fly helis there. The new president hates helis (he cant fly one...so they are not welcomed!) Too many bad stories of that place. It used to be fun until the mullet haircut pres. took over.....

yep that sounds about right. everytime i wentto that field by teterboro i never gotto fly to many politics even back years ago so i just stayed clear.
wonder why ron (ramsey hobbies) jumped ship on r/c? he used to do great with cars and ok with boats. just about the time i left he started to get into helis and planes more because a guy named bob ??? started to do a lot of training for helis and help people with thier planes.
used to be a not so good hobby shop in warwick for a short while also. very over priced and no selection
