Many of you will have read certain comments i have made here, constructive no doubt.

Since removing the slop in the links throughout the whole linkage system all i can say is that this is a very accurate helicopter.

In FF it tracks superb (hands free!)
No pitchiness
Turns extremely sharp.
Is exceptionally responsive.
And is the first Helicopter i have enjoyed flying in wind!

So for everyone who thought i was bagging it.....Its the B@LL@X

Glad to see you come around!

I also have about 30 flights on mine now and im in love with it. Nothing else in my hangar has been touched since i flew this thing the first time. Still getting more power out of the OS91 and agree with all your comments. Ive progressed more in the last 3 days with this ship than i have all season.

A day without sunshine is like, well, night.

did you ever try the heli without taking all of the precautions you mentioned? i have the slop you are referring to, yet am not able to feel it while flying the machine.

if you did have a chance to fly it before and after, i would be interested to hear how it changed in feel/performance for you.

Yes I did fly it before and after, before the slop was removed there was no real issue it just felt a little vague, a little notchy on control inputs, a little pitchy in FFF. So if you want to fly a worn out new heli then go ahead it will fly.

However if you want to do the model justice until the correct balls become available then remove the slop.

After i removed the slop it felt crisp and not pitchy, funnily it flew how i expected it to fly.

The problem with poor fitting control linkages are that they get worse not better, and any pilot here that says it flies acceptably with loose linkages is kidding themselves and missing out on a very precise system.

glad you got it fixed out, how is the CA ball links holding up?

what exactly did you do to the links?

i'm going to take my auto hub apart today and make sure i threadlocked it (can't remember) after your warning, i assume you done the tail gear pin mod?

Tail gear pin mod!! Don't tell me is it a roll pin, does it come out like the raptor used to??
Didn't even look at that bit (like a fool) as it was pre assembled, but if they cant get the right bits in the right bag, and the right bits the right size i better check!!

This fuggin thing is doing my head in.

CA is holdin up fine, this isn't a new idea its been done since time began. I think they call it modelling, comes from plank fliers.

My problem is i don't trust helicopters things spin too fast so i build my trust into them.

Raptors used to dump the roll pin out of the tail gear and because its harder than the surrounding material it used to act like a crude internal lathe!!!

So thunder tiger modified the tail shaft and put a grub screw up the middle to hold the pin. Problem was some individuals overtightened them, the pin snapped and the above happenend all over again!!

The heat shrink just holds the cutting bit in should it move!

If you make something idiot proof the world designs a bigger idiot!

Synergy tail input and output shafts have set screw to secure the roll pin... No more beating the hell (ala freya)out of everything to get the pin out when your gears have to be changed... BUT, if you do not put the set screws on, they will probably slide out, they are in passively so you can get them out..

I flew jason's heli a few times in Minnesota, his head/linkages are stock, was the most responsive heli I have ever flown... kinda scared me actually... I thought mine were quick, his are ballistic. I know the play in the linkage is a concern for many(and it is being addressed), I would love to do a blind test on someone to see if they could tell the difference in flight. I'm not sure I could.

Your right mine scared me,i'm not disputing it won't fly, but it felt like you had a plastic 200 flight raptor swash plate in the system and that is why I addressed it.

Jesus i bought a £700 heli it should be tight and slop free!

We are talking of ball links here the bread and butter of a heli system. They aren't a new fashion accessory.

synergy has BIG balls

bigger than most i've seen on helis so far, and i really appreciate the way you can use a 2mm driver to get them in straight and true. i thought these things were innovative, new, and quite fashionable. alas, there is some slop, it will be fixed, i'm sure, in time. gotta give those guys credit for links that just REFUSE to be popped off (even when you are trying to sometimes! :P) isn't that innovative and new too? i'd rather links that don't pop off AND no slop, but given the choice, i would choose the former.

droid, you're familiar with engineering. you ought to know that with new systems in place, iterations will be needed to reach the final (note i did not say perfect) acceptable solution.

hope your ca solution is holding up so far.

got another 10 flights on the heli today and came home with it in one piece (a good day for me).

I got nearly a whole bottle left and there is more at the LHS, just hope the updates come before i spend £100 on CA

This is my first eCCPM heli and with 42kgs of torque on the swash it kicks ass, i'm running 710 blades i fancy dropping down to 690's
