Hi Guys,

I am in the middle of setting up my Fury/OS91/Hatori combo. I would like to get an idea of how you guys are mounting the muffer to the frame. Please post any pics you may have.

Thanks:

I am using the YS 61 with the O ring Hatori and I had a lot of problems eating up O rings until I did this

If you look closely at the first pic you will see the remnants of the 4mm bolt that I used on one of my attempts at keeping the mufller on. Now I use a Kalt iso mount....and it is a beautiful thing

Looks good

Thanks for taking the time to reply and posting your pics. Your setup looks pretty good and seems like it would provide great support for the muffler.

you may also want to try the MA Universal Shock Mount (4008 ?)

Funky but good.

One of my original mounting attempts was very similar to the MA mount and the problem I had with that was that the mount mounted to the rear frame. As I was installing the muffler I noticed how much it flexed and moved relative to the rear frame. That was my primary reason for attaching it to the forward frame. I don't know if that was the reason it stopped eating up O rings but for whatever reason it did

I also believe that the Hatori "flourine" O rings are the same as Flourocarbon O rings, aka Viton. I had to find a cheaper way to go with them while I was trying to figure out my problem....I can get the Viton #211 for $0.65/ea. Cheaper and since I can get them at my local bearing shop they are much easier to come by

yes, the Viton 211s are the same and as you discovered, about
1/10th the price of Hatori O-rings.
