Too much slop!! Up to 1mm in my tail, 3mm in flybar to swash deflection. Are the balls too small or are the links too big??

you must have gotten a different kit then most of us. Mine are a VERY tight fit to snap on. Hard to get on but a very good smooth fit once fully installed with no play.

Agree with the hard to get on but look very closely at your cumulative slop in the links, they are diabolical.

Hmmm.... Could be....cant say i looked at it that much. Have you flown it yet? If not, go fly it first and then come back and tell us what you think If i have alot of cumulative slop i certainly dont notice it in flight!

yup, this is a noted problem, the balls should have had a coating on them but they didn't apply the coating before sending them out for some reason. this is the word on the street anyway but they definetely know about it....i told them on their website.

cheers

The balls were sized to be plated, but were not. A problem with the "first run" of kits.

there is absolutly NO slop in my links in the head, although the tail links and the tail bellcrank are both a little sloppy, other than that the head links are all very tight and have no slop at all.

apparently they will be chroming the balls and everyone with kits that have the black ones will get the upgraded balls when they are done

Does that mean I can have chrome ones to replace the spares I have bought too ontop of the ones that came in the kit? mmmhhh.

yeah the balls are smaller so the cumulative slop is incredible.

On top of the issues that were already there, (other thread) it is annoying. At least with 4mm balls we could have replaced them.

I think the model is great, great design etc. But unfortunately the first batch of kits the quality control wasnt exactly the greatest.

An hour with some thin cyano and a little patience and my head /linkages are 100% slop free..... £3 fix

Just need to see if it flies any different now....

Maybe tomorrow

Agree... so are most hard things.

This is something that i've done to reduce slop in poor fitting ball links in the past, it did wonders for the tail so its worth a shot in the head linkages. What have i to loose if it breaks up and disappears i'll only be back to the same fit as before!!

But saying that it doesn't it acts as a bearing surface.

Until i can find some decent balls and links i'm doing it.

If i have to do it after every session i'm hoping its worthwhile.

Obviously i didn't expect it not to work.

All i can say is it now feels like it should have done from the box, smooth, responsive and very very accurate!

It shows my every flying mistake, i have learnt alot about MY flying today.

Has anyone heard a update to this. I was woundering if they are going to send the new coated balls to dealers too, for a fix?

You must contact the distributor, and they will send you the new ball links, as well as the new upper collet.
