are you guys flying with 2 cell or 3 cell power?

I was going to get the rc-expert kit but wasn't sure about the power of the motor he is providing. How big is the pinion he provided? The 9g servos are kinda big for the heli but at least they are decent servos.

I'm planning I think to fly 2 cell when I get it unless its not enough to do loops and such. 2 cell is cheaper for buying batteries.

Take it from me , it will not even lift off the floor with 2 cell , with all the big servo's fitted , large gyro , esc and your rx its not far off the weight of a Trex.
I flew mine last night , but stripped a main gear as al the main frame screws were not loctitied from new

well thats because you got the rcexpert kit. Rc expert is known to put in crappy motors and crappy batteries. The 2s he provides is probably the problem and the motor probably isn't up to par either.

To be fair the spec on the motor and batteries were good , which I posted earlier.

Have you flown the pro version with 2 cells ???

how much your heli weight, it should be less than 180 grams ready to fly. My weight 175grams ready to fly Im using a 4800kv motor on 2 cells and I have power to do mild 3D rolls, loops and inverted flying

I think the pro version is heavier, I bought the carbon fibre boom and is heavier than the stock one, the carbon fins are also heavier than plastic, you really dont need all the metal and carbon upgrades just the swash plate, the plastic swash came apart in flight

here is my fleet

HELILAB yours is not the pro , so yours will only use the tiny servo's also.
Dont know the weight but its heavy with the standard micro servo's

The pro will fit the standard size micro servo's as fitted in the Trex etc but there on the limit fitting them in , would have been better to fit the little tiny servos like fitted in the Walkera 52 but this was what were supplied.

so how is the stock $99 version of this tiny heli flying? Anyone have one doing 3D indoors yet? Thats cheap enough to buy two. One for flying and one to rob for crash parts

Yes from what ive seen I would now have bought the cheaper version as its tried and tested , seems like they leave all the testing to us on these cheap heli's

Lets do it Buddy! I'll get one for sure eventually. I tried to do this with a hornet years ago. Made it all short and stubby. It really flew too! When I Went to flip it in my lviing room, I crashed the hell out of it though, and it was all custom, so I didn't feel like making another one

this looks like the easier alternative. I think I'll go cheapo on this project and get the $99 version from Fung at flying-hobby.com. That way I can get two of them, and use one as a crash parts box. I think I have enough airplane electronics laying around to fly it. Just need the heli and a bl motor for it.

Dang! It flies for 5 minutes too!

Wonder how well it flies on the stock motor?
I have batteries that weigh/cost more than this thing. I'll pick one up for sure

you should get the pro version, I'm going to get one in the next week or so, many more servo choices. You want to be stuck using the pino servos that aren't available in the US?
