Is this mini helicopter much harder to fly than a Trex450SE? I am tyring to learn roll and inverted flight. The Trex450SE is not cheap everytime it crashed, can cost from $50 to $120. Some one in the LHS told me this mini zoom heli is very tough and the blades are the only item break for crashing. This will be ideal cheap alternative to learn inverted flight. I already doing good in simulator for 2 months but still hand shake alot for inverted flight. Just crashed my Venture 50 and cost me $110 ($45 blades, $15 boom, $14 arms, $10 shaft, $8 feathering shaft, and misc items)for parts. Thanks.

NO, you would be lucky if you could get the thing inverted, let alone practice rolling it. Stay away. The TREX is the cheapest thing to fix around, cheaper than a blade.

way harder than any other bigger heli stay with with trex or even a 50 size like the Raptor is good heli to learn, is more stable and parts are not expensive

Thanks for all your suggestions. I will not buy the mini zoom heli then and stick with my Trex600 and Trex450. That Trex600 fly very very good but I hate to see it crash if it ever happened.

That video from Taiwan and Japan showing all kinds of 3D stuffs from the mini zoom and I thought it is very easy. Maybe the pilot is exceptionally good.

That video was with the stock non pro version.

I have a 600, can't wait to fly it, as far as I understand, aside from the blades, the parts aren't really much more than the 450 to replace.

Anyone running the Gaui motor on 3 cell? My brand new motor just came in the mail so I installed it and it smoked within 10 seconds. On 2 cell it just wasnt getting any rpms.

I'm running a cheapy E-Sky 3850 kv now. Cost 12 bucks on ebay.

Runs great. Flew it for the first time today. Still needs trimming but it came with a bad servo (bought it used) so I'm waiting on that. Its making the whole bird twitchy and jumpy.

Whats the best servo to use for this thing? Had a bluebird on the tail but its bad so I'm looking to get something that works really well. If Hitec comes out with their new Logictech 2100 servo that would work great. The cyclic has arrow servos on it but theyre very noisy. Anyone using digital servos?

Also, should I be using a BEC on 3 cell?

Are these helis a good winter indoor, or are they a bit dangerous for the indoor flight. If something goes wrong is the heli going to take out my tv, wall, or cat.

If I say duck, I'm not talking about a bird that quacks!

With the foam blades the only thing that gets "taken out" is the blade. Fiberglass blades may be a different story though. I havent tried them yet...

I have heard of a blade being launched into a wall at 5000 rpm. You might wanna put your cat in the garage during heli time

anyone foolish enough to run these little things at 5000 rpm shouldn't be allowed to own a cat, among other things.

they fly fine indoors with suitable room. they move a lot of air at 3700 rpm and in small areas this can result in a lot of turbulence.

give them proper space and they're pretty neat.

very durable actually due to the low weight. contact with whatever can break a blade or occasionally bends the main shaft, but you can bounce them around pretty good without harm.

Need your advice

Greeting to you all.
By mistake I entered in this forum and immediately my attention was call for the Gaui EP100 and began to read the posts, after 45min of reading I couldn’t hold my self and placed an order to RC-Expert for the EP100 Pro RTF, as well as a fly simulation kit and the training kit (some CF sticks & orange balls)
Now I need some HEILP from the expert like you all seem to be. I have no previous experience with helis what so ever, only had flown one of those minis that are promoted on TV for some $24. and it was very simple, nothing close to what you guys can do, as I have seen on some videos. My experience with R/C has been only on electric and fuel cars for over 30 years and about 18 years as a Pro-Team driver for a few tops notch brands as; Associated, BMT and Serpent.
This heli flying seems incredibly difficult; so any advice from you would be totally 100% appreciate. Please forward me any info I need to know as well as any www.com that I can go, to read and learn as a BIGINER!!!

well you shouldn't have bought the ep100, its not a beginners heli, further, the rc expert combo from what I understand is junk, heli will not really fly with that. If you are insistant on making this work, PM me and I will try to help you the best I can so you will at least have a functioning heli. Helidirect sells the parts for it now.
