Ok

I see where your coming from. Thanks for the helpful info. It seems funny that every time I get something figured out and the way I want it, I sell it. The Caliber now. Getting the Raptor. My wife asked why I do that. Once I get it the way I want it, I get rid of it. Then she asked me why I haven't gotten rid of of her yet? I told her I haven't gotten her the way I want her yet. I don't know if I'm in trouble or not, but she laughed.

Ok! It was my fault!

Just a note on the revmax and throttle curves, read an article, it would be a good idea to have the revamax programmed with an aux channel on your radio to switch off in normal mode and use your defined throttle curves for normal mode, as opposed to having revmax work your throttle curves on all three or two modes that you fly in.

Having 100% throttle curves across the board might not be such a good idea in case, of a revmax failure or magnet loss.

Just my observations on leaving 18,000rpm worth of KE in the hands of a computer and a magnet.

I have backup throttle curves for normal mode and idle 2. I can turn on/off the revmax for any flight mode.

Then again, if it fails, there's always throttle hold.

Wow, I just installed the rev max on the cal5, oh man talk about silky smooth flying.

Have the nrm switch set to default revmax disabled at +5
Idle 1 and. idle 2 throttle curves across the board 100%
ATV for revmax mode on set at 82% rpm running at 1920, am going to drop that a little bit.

Revmax running on 2 switch (gear) radio PCM9X. This revmax is worth every dollar.

Just doing a routine check up on the heli today, cleaning and sparking it up as usual, on the dinning table (wife not around), spoteed something rather dangerous on the sensor part, if you take a look at heli cuzz pics of his install which is exactly identical, the heat shrink wrap that holds that sensor down, has beeen some what nipped off by the belt that turns from the main clutch, nearly split in half, tied it down with a zip tie for added security and some thin CA.

I suggest for those that did the same install to have a look, a disaster waiting to happen.

Looking at it closely, that belt is going to touch one way or another no matter how far up your sensor is, it's either the fan or the belt rubbing, look closely that section moves freely whilst spooling up.

Any difference between Throttle Jockey and the RevMax? Perhaps different fame rate processing ?

Shesha, I had that problem too. I have changed my bracket angle to 90 degrees so the sensor is away from the belt entirely.

I lost the sensor in flite and had to replace it. A friend sold me 3 sensors for 6 bucks. I have two sensors left and have flown more than 10 gallons on the new sensor with its new positioning. Its definitely out of harms way now.

Here's my RevMax setup. I've been using this setup for months and so far there are no problems.

I was just doing some calculations in terms of of determing how to setup the revmax.

I dont know if this is correct but here goes.

The 0s50 manual states that the maximum rpm form the hyper 50 is 20,000 rpm, knowing the cal5 gear ratio being 9.6 this translates to 2083RPM

20,000/9.6 = 2083RPM maximum

So if the throttle servo and throttle carb arms are set at equal linear travel 0/0 50/50 100/100, then setting the ATV or travel adjust can be based on the following calculation.

JR Radio PCM9X and 9XII radio travel adjust is in %.
(percentages round up)
2000RPM target / 2083RPM Max from engine, 96% on travel adjust
1950RPM target / 2083RPM Max from engine, 94% on travel adjust
1900RPM target / 2083RPM max from engine, 91% on travel adjust
1850RPM target / 2083RPM max from engine, 89% on travel adjust
1800RPM target / 2083RPM max from engine, 86% on travel adjust
1750RPM target / 2083RPM max from engine, 84% on travel adjust

The TJ RevMax chart is very accurate. I have my head speed at 1800 rpm and my engine is about 18,500. I checked the rotor with a Tach and its deadnuts accurate according to the RevMax chart.

Ehh just a question since i did not find it in the manual, can Rev Max operate on regulatyed 6V power supply ?

Since the caliber5 with the os50 is running 5.1 regulated power supply, the other one is going to be running 6V dont want be cooking something before I know it.
