How is the fiber glass quality? Has anyone had there's crack after painting and flights. Just wanted to know. Going to have some canopies painted and need to know if I should reinforce them on the in side.

Thanks Chris

No problems so far, 45 flights, but I'm currently using an Arizona canopy. Have not had time to get the one from the kit painted.

I'd say the quality and size of the fiberglass is very good and enough to hold up to abuse in the air. The ground is a different story. The gel coat is excellent and no seams to sand either.

Also seem very solid around the mounting holes, so I should think they will last a while without looking too shabby.

I glue in my grommets from the inside with CA so they don't move. I also add grease to the Canopy Thumb screws so the grommets don't rip in half. When I do all of this the grommets usually last more than a year or outlive the life of the canopy.

Not sure how mike crashed, I just heard the smash and saw the parts fly. He had it up and running the next day.

Mike put on one heck of show with the fireworks at ORRO.

Synergy Crash

I saw the crash from a distance at the ORR fun fly.

I believe I overheard Mike and Jason K talking about the cause. It sounds like mike received some parts just in time to throw the heli together (in a rush) and didn't get some screws aligned with the flats in the torque tube. He lost the tail and it went in.

Mike, Jason, or Todd, if you are reading please correct me if I'm wrong!

rev has it right...

I brain farted and didn't get the 4 set screws lined up on the flats... can almost guarantee that will NEVER happen again Heli takes a crash well... I have 3 crashes under my belt, no frame damage yet...just normal head and tail stuff...

The gelcoat on the underside of my first one was split slightly where the two halves joined. The second one I got was OK and is getting painted tomorrow...
