e-MS Composit Hornet > Auto-rotation gear

Hello,

I have a Schweizer 300 FP and would like to install the auto-rotation gear. Can this be done? This is my first experience with a Hornet and I think their tail drive is great. I'm just not sure if the auto-rotation gear is larger or that it will fit.

Thanks,

Arnie

I not sure. Email jjezek@mscomposit.com the official US MS guy and ask him if the E230 one way auto gear (CP-X, H1-CP) will also fit a Hornet1 FP?

Available at www.mscompositusa.com and www.fxaeromodels.com

If you want an 'X' series one way (X-3D) you will need all the components mentioned here (expensive). And be prepared to cut the CP main shaft to size to fit an FP head (trim just past the top pin hole, the base end is a flat spot grip only). Cutting is easy with a small hacksaw but I am not sure if about the head pin hole distance differences between H1 and X series with one way unit with extended flat spot shaft (if you follow me). I think it would be the same or close enough.

Thanks DarkHorse1 for all the info. I like this simple Hornet so much I might just buy a CP version to my fleet.

Cool picture .

If you do then get the X-3D kit for the best features to cash ratio see here.
Though the CP is a completely different flying experience and crashes cost more setup time.

Your a great guy DarkHorse1 to take the time to set me in the right direction. My gallery is full of a variety of helis and I enjoy all of them but I will be selling a couple and the Schweizer will certainly not be one of them.

Oh wow, you've got lots of micro heli's there.
Couldn't see any MaxIR, Aplus / SJM or Hornet X-3D

DarkHorse1,
I almost bought a Sjm 400 from here last week. It gets to be too much I started on those cheap e-bay micros and learned on them ,than when I bought the good brands I really began to enjoy myself ,than my brother-in-law gave me the Raptor30 ,that's a keeper I put a os50 engine in it and just love it. My Trex SE is rock solid but too pretty to fly. I fly my beltdrive blade cp and schweizer the most.

Hello DarkHorse1,
Well my Schweizer 300 has a titanium main shaft and auto-rotation gear. But at the cost of just over $30 from helihobby.com to me it's worth it to see the blades spin to a stop and having a shaft that won't bend at a tip over. It brings the blades a couple mm's lower and bumps the top of the canopy when you turn so I can trim the canopy to lower it enough to clear but I'm looking into installing the cnc head of the hummingbird to solve everything.
