Hi guys,
It has been long time since I have posted anything on the Voyager E. I started off with the Voyager and smacked it up three or four times. Each crash costed me some serious $$$. So....I sold it and got a Corona and have had ton of fun with it.

Now....I want my collective pitch back! I want my Voyager E!!!! Well I found one and purchased it. I am very excited about it. Raptor tail will be awesome! My old Voayager had problems often with the tail pitch assembly breaking often.

I am back on the horse again....looking forward to any suggestions any of you may have.

Dave

Welcome back.... What motor, ESC and Batteries will you be using. If your old VE didn't have the Quick head, your gonna love the difference. I have the Quick (Japan) head and it has made all the difference. I however am using the SAB 440mm Blades. They have a 12 MM root and need no spacers. Best of luck getting her in the air. I played with the stretch for a while, but went back to the stock length tailboom and a Schweizer canopy. Can you tell I'm not into the 3d scene. Fine for others, but at my age I can't pucker that hard

3D is good way to stay broke when you fly like me!!!!! I just want to take it to the feild, fly normal and maybe do a couple loops but that is about it.

I will be putting the old Hacker C40 8L back in it...I just had it serviced. I will be looking for another ESC. My 40 amp Opto is in my Corona. I hate to pull it out.

I have many Lipos that I fly with my Corona...I will have to figure out where to mount the packs at on the Voyager. I dont even have the bird yet....it will ship Monday morning so I should have it by Wed or Thurs.

I have buddies who are into collective pitch helis and doing well with 3D....they will be helping with the set up. I did it on my own last time and it worked out well. Just too many times hitting the dirt. I think I will have some success this time!!!!

OK....got the Voyager today and started to take a good look at it. I need to replace one of the gears. The tail boom and looks like it is from a LOGO and the tail is for sure a Raptor 30/50. The head and swash are from the Quick heli. I had no idea tha all these parts would fit onto the Voyager.

Now come the bad news. The heli is VERY tail heavy with the upgraded tail boom. The tail rotor is much larger than the stock Voyager. I have to have the battery pack (11.1 volt 4200 lipo) 1 1/2" past the nose of the canopy nose to make it balance out. So....is it really worth the trouble? Hmmmmmm.....I have to think this one out.

The tail rotor diameter of the Raptor is much larger than the stock version. The previous owner has a CF rod hooked onto the vertical stab. Should I cut the tail rotors down a little?

One part of me says....fly it as is....the other part says :Just order the stock tail parts and be done with it. What do you all think???

The Hacker should work just fine. Thats the ESC I flew forever on mine with no problems...same setup just a larger battery.

For mounting LIPOS consider buying a swift battery tray. They are 15$ and carbon fiber. http://www.heli-world.com/detail.aspx?ID=3631
It mounts with a little work ( I chopped off the front battery holder from the landing gear) and you can easily place your batteries forward. I've since sold my voyager so I can't offer you any photos.

I also mounted the swift vertical fin on my Voyagers raptor tail. http://www.heli-world.com/detail.aspx?ID=5497

For your Raptor tail on the Voyager....did you cut them down any or did you leave them as is?

I didn't cut it down, would be easy if you need to. You'll have to drill another hole (in the fin) to mount it.
