Hello fellow Pilots,

Anyone with the KSJ 239 Start Shaft ever have the one way torrington bearing break apart?

This past weekend I couldn't start the engines, the shaft wouldn't turn, but the starter would just spin.

Upon further investigation: Inside the torrington, there is a plastic insert, which holds the springs and rollers, well this plastic piece broke apart, causing the torrington NOT to grip the shaft.

Is there a known fix? Can I just order a new torrington bearing from KSJ?

Please advise....

Location: 10000 is enough time wasted.

I've seen it happen on a number of roller/spring
type Torrington's like the Paege and Proflex.

I hope you can get a replacement bearing but I
suspect that a good local bearing supplier
can set you up w/ one too.
