I fly with my thumbs only and have no problems but I'm not into the hard 3D stuff, I just enjoy flying around with no D flying....

Yes It sits on the ground and I hop over it a few times... getting inverted is very hard...LOL

1D = idling on the ground
2D = hovering and slow forward flight
3D = inverted hovering and flying w/some tricks thrown in
4D = when your 3D flying transcends space and time, inspiring others to empty their wallets willingly and often so they can try it themselves.
5D = when you do 4D with a turbine

I fly 3D all day long, every time I fly -- at least it looks that way if you're hanging upside down from your ankles.

i fly with thumbs, it is the only way i have ever used a transmitter even starting out with my NITRO deep vee boat 20 yrs ago so i can not change now. does it not make more sense flying a heli to have fingers free to change switch positions in flight. i know i change dual rates back and forth with my flying wing when trying to do a roll. still not to good at that one yet. and i also change dual rates with the t-rex sometimes/

been flying thumbs for 20+ years, tried to change to pinch a couple of months ago, but it took too much thinking to make it happen. I guess I'm stuck this way now....

I fly pinch on the throttle/rudder and thumb on the otherside... I find using my right hand thumb is more accurate, maybe from all that xbox action

I've noticed though that kids who haven't developed a callous will not like this method cause the gimbals hurt them easily.

This topic has been beaten to death about 100 times, BUT I will still chime in.

When I first flew planks I used my thumbs. when I switched to helis, I saw so many of these, kinds of threads asking if you flew thumbs or pinchers. I tried out pinchers on the sim and it just hooked. I feel like that with thumbs the stick wants to slip off my finger, but pinchers hold it in place rock solid. Doesnt matter which way you hold the sticks, There are people at my field who are ausome pilots that fly with thumbs.
