TSK Helis and HeliTECH!

To Reply to this thread.

Helitech is way overpriced on most items.

I have my original TSK 30 still flying. I bought a couple of used TSK 30's about 2 years ago, mainly for the parts. Fortunately, I haven't had to repair too much.

The best thing for parts in my opinion, is try to find someone who has an old TSK laying around and see if they want to sell it.

The TSK was and for the most part still is a great heli, but without reasonably priced parts, it may be time to consider something else.

You all take care........................Jeff

Jeff, if you or Ed (or anyone else, for that matter) are interested in parts, my pal has a sackful from the remains of three MyStars and an AcroStar.

Let me know, and I'll put you in touch with him.

I still love mine :O)

I'll never get rid of mine.Actually if you look the price has risen.I bought mine for $549 three years ago and now i see some price $200+more.Now Ed you said that many parts are interchangeable, which ones are ? I need a clutch bell for a mystar 60.I agree they came with crapp bearings but look, Boca is awesome....They even have ceramics for our O.S 61 sx-h "wc" can't be all bad :O). As long as we love our TSK's they will never die and become very collectable.I was looking into a Kalt Mercury, anyone have any ya's or na's about that one?

Don't think they will fit.

<<...they came with crap bearings...>>

If you bought your kit from HHI, that's a possibility. I had my purchased-from-HHI MyStars back before I really began to pay attention to bearings. As time went by, and I learned things, I began looking more closely at my machines. Then I saw my first from-Japan TSK ship, and I realized what was going on.

Having said that, whatever Taiwanese, etc. bearings that Irwin put in there did okay. I never had one fail. I was lucky. I know several folks who were not so fortunate. All that is academic now, of course; except for CAVEAT EMPTOR...

Genuine TSK kits, with all-TSK parts, came with NTN bearings.

Yup, stripped mine. I dicked around trying to save it then eventually realized the heli was worth a hell of a lot more than a cheesy 50 part so bought a new one immediately.

Buy a new one and be done with it.

I agree....

I agree but i think i have a fix for it.Drill everthing .5mm larger and retap the threads. the hardest part will be redrilling those spacers on each side of it.I'lll keep you posted on my success.

Won't you have to find a different set of bearings then too? And I don't remember seeing them in .5mm sizes.

Maybe try finding a metric heli-coil for it.

Ummmm NO...

The bolts go through the spacers.Redrill the spacers. The spacers are incerted in the inner diameter of the bearings, take a look and you'll see. They come out.

That's ok.

Maybe you should have held out! They are worth more now :O)~ than they have been in a long time.Look and see for yourself.Anyways, we are finding ways to survive and many parts are interchangeable with many other heli's.I will never get rid of my mystar 60.It will take a-lot more than a company retiring.I hope a-lot of people think that way also because that will mean more parts for me,and the prices will go down ,hehhehe.
