I fix my own heli when need be, and I buy my own parts as well. Just wait until I get into flying the big stuff, like JETS! Now your talking money. Lucky for me, that will be awhile. Do your wives know about RR? Cuz if they do, you'd be getting yourself in trouble just by saying all your saying, be careful, we women can be very clever!

Who said that R/C helicopters aren't that expensive. MikeInMobile (my better half) has well over $3000 invested in his scale 60 sized Airwolf and I really don't care what any of it costs, so long as he is happy and keeps all of my helicopters (all 5 of them) in perfect working order. I don't fix them, I just enjoy flying them.

Much better to find a lovely lady then convert her I must admit i have tried with my girlfriend but after about 3 minutes on the sim she hands back the TX and says she cannot do it.

Jason,

Introduce her to a 30 sized nitro helicopter. There is a BIG difference between a sim and a real bird. BelindaInMobile still can't fly the simulator, but she can fly the hell out of a nitro helicopter.

Jason,

Be sure to tell her that you also had a hard time when you first started out and crashed many times before you learned how to control the machine. This will help to take the edge off of the situation. Also stress the fact that when she crashes (it always happens), that at least she wasn't hurt and the damage can be EASILY repaired. This will also help to take some of the edge off.

Flying on three dimensions seems to be a lot easier for most women than flying using a two dimensional image (a computer screen). Women are typically detail oriented, so they pay more attention to the fact that they are looking at a picture rather than really doing it. Buy a cheap 30 sized (stay away from the electrics, they are a little too fast for a beginner that is nervous), and make it PRETTY for her. Paint it her favorite color.

Also, take time to explain everything that she will need to know before attempting to hover ..... nothing worse than her crashing because you forgot a major detail.

AND ABOVE ALL ELSE, BE PATIENT!

OK Belinda,Your right about that, If your talking about scale heli's, I know there's alot of money invested in those. But if your talking about a 30 size or 50 size, and nothing fancy, your probably looking at less then $1000.00. My boyfriend has over $10,000.00 invested in his Jet. That's more then I care to invest at this time. Have fun, and be safe, Lori

Cool jet I diffinately like that. I couldn't tell you exactly what he has tied up in all of our helis, if I did I would probably have heart failure big time and he isn't even finished putting the upgrades on my augusta yet. But we have to have fun in life otherwise it just sucks. Always having fun and being safe.

Hi Leslie, yes it was flying at the rally. Sorry you missed it, it is beautiful watching it fly. I'll have to let you know next season when and where we will be flying, weather it be te Jets or the heli's.
Belinda, it's probably not a good idea to try and add up the costs of all our toys, otherwise we would all be needing some sort of medical treatment! But like you said, it's all about fun, and we sure do have lots of that now don't we?! Take care, Lori

Hi All,

I don't even ask, he's into Vette restoration. When I see a flatbed in the driveway, I know it's 20K, so my little heli hobby is in the noise

Cheers,
Leslie

I'm a hot Hot Chick & I can fly (sort of), maybe you & I can get together & you can help me learn to fly better. As you can see from my photo, I also match your heli so I think we may be a match because we both like green......
