Looks like the setup to me -
Hope you have better luck with the CSM/877 combo than I had with the GY401/877 combo -
From reports you should be able to run the CSM/877 in digi-mode without problems as long as your mechanical setup is clean.

what problems did you find with a 401 877 setup?

It just wasn't holding as well as my HS-50 or SM8 with my 401.

It felt really wow nice when just hovering and mildly cruising around - But as soon as I started challenging it's hold in aerobatics it no longer felt so nice.

Here's the thread..

Please drop me a note if you need any help with the 560/877 setup - depending on how things go with your initial tests there are some gyro internal settings changes that can improve things - a lot seems to depend on the particular set of mechanics - I guess there is a bit of variation in the watch size engineering.

Best regards

Does the x3d come with stock pinion ? I just received my machine and thumbed through it looking through the bags and didnt see 1.

No motor or pinion with the X-3D kit. Normally the stock pinion is shipped with the motor but depends on the supplier.
MS011 MS Brushless Twister Motor for Hornet w/gear
Although not so clear at www.mscompositusa.com but the stock economic 25T pinion with duel grub screw is shown in the picture???

I got a 27T from TowerModels, it's a single grub screw 3.175 mm (1/8 inch) for a target RPM around 3000 at best. Or try these 64 pitch / 0.4 mod suppliers list here.

now im building the tail. it seems sorta cheesy. the blade grips seem to be tilted inward towards the boom. is this common? or should i be considering a tail upgrade? there is alot of binding. what can i do to make this slide better?

Mmm, I seem to remember some grip tilting, it was due to the newly folded plastic yoke trying to twist the grips and nothing to worry about. I would see how what you have performs first. I see no need to upgrade the tail grips, just carefully check the manufacturing of good symmetry and centring for the hub drill holes. Don't over tighten and strip the hub threads.

One flyer reported odd blade grip screw lengths the through out the balancing.
I made a construction error by not screwing the yoke on to the brass sleeve square and it oscillated when spun. To fix had to dismantle and gently heat the brass sleeve to true the thread in the plastic yoke (and the correct way round!).

Yea your tail looks ok so far .

I don't fly that hard yet, occasionally test the limits. Takes a while to dial in that perfect Hornet setup , picking your way through the info and links on my tips page might help.

No, 25T, 26T, 27T for the MS recommended Twister outrunner also know as the MS011 / Tsunami / Axi 2208/20 (gold) / EM300/20
1820 rpm/V, 8 - 12 A (>75%), max 16 A/60s, 45g, 27,7x26 mm, Shaft diameter 3,17 mm

? what you have this motor: Park 370 Brushless Outrunner Motor, 1360 rpm/v

My best guess is:
(1360 rpm x 11.1v)/(180T/35T)= 3000 rpm at 100% throttle with no loss.
35T won't fit the heli, so the 370 outrunner you mention is not suitable on 3 cells.

Edit: You need a motor in the range of 1800-5000rpm/v 40-60g 10-15Amp with the correct pinion (8T to 27T).

I've never actually done this math before and just went with recommendations so I wanna see if I get it right for the fun of it...

(1080x11.1)/(180/45)=2997 - So 45t pinion?

How does this math work with different sized motors? -
Say park370/4100kv vs park400/4200kv (2 inrunners i've tried on my bcp (140/8))

(4100 rpm/v x 11.1v)/(180T/12T)= 3034 rpm at 100% throttle with no loss,
10 oz to 14 oz (280 g to 400 g)

(4200 rpm/v x 11.1v)/(180T/12T)= 3108 rpm at 100% throttle with no loss,
12 oz to 26oz (340 g to 740 g)

but the heavier (thicker wire wind?) 4200 rpm/v motor can take more current and provide more thrust.

my bed is calling me...
