| For what it's worth, I've rarely come across a crank that is not everso slightly bent. I like to dial in well within a thou, and a bent crank makes this very awkward. Dialing the fan rim is usually OK, but the clutch mount end is a problem. My fix has been to slightly oversize one side of the crank bushing, do up the crank nut tight while applying sideways pressure on the fan. This seats the fan firmly on the collet and it can be checked for runout. If it's bad , do it again. If all is good, then remove crank nut and re fit with loctite. I hate fitting fans.
